His presence at dummy half might encourage quicker ptbs. He might be more demanding.

Hopefully. I think our forwards need to improve themselves too, though. Yet another area where a change of coach will help, with any luck.

| I think seymour's a good player in a good side and lost his place to the nextt benji, through injury, he's also at a good age and tbh if he wasnt that good he'd still be better than the set up we have, or more acurately don't have, now

Would have kept Phelps as he has been very good just lately

Whilst I agree that phelps has played well the last few games, when Mckinnon signed Phelps was having a few injury problems.
Mckinnon injury record has been very good this year, had a couple of bad games and was rightly dropped for one game and has been on the bench the last few games.
having seen them both play, Mckinnon is a massive step on Phelps at FB, Phelps is a decent utility back while Mckinnon is very good FB.
Reminds me of the Treister/Swain situation.

| Obviously never got to see Paul Woods play. But what is it that made the guy a nut case as so many of you say he was.
Also heard things about Tim Street, what was he like as a player?
EDIT: Wriiten this on the wrong thread! If a mod would be kind enough to move it to the FC Hardmen thread that would be great

He used to collect a kick and on his ball return he would just headlong into the onrushing pack and leave them scatterd over the pitch.
Street was actually a very good prop when with us.
Another hard bugger was Graham Walters.

one of my all time greats is 'Woods'y. Just as you said, he was fearless (a nutter) who just ran straight at the opposition without fear of his own safety. The outcome was usual, a heap of opposing players on the deck! He just kept on running!
The thing was with him, that he was only slightly built, solid but not 'big'. What a player and what laughs he gave us.

| Tim Street just loved a scrap and you knew that if he played he would fight.
He was a good player also - when you saw him play - he was banned so much!

Street had the reputation before he signed for us . Him and Wilson were total nutjobs.

iirc he was given a three match ban for "intent" - I think it was at Castleford - where the player ducked under his arm. He was definitely one of those players who "never took a step backwards".

Pretty skillful prop to boot.
Not sure how it links in with Brett Seymour mind
