I was taking the lad to training this morning so it was on the 10am bulletin saying he will be out for a month as he is having a hernia Op. Although Humberside are not always the best source of news

I heard that also . Said no operation , monitoring his fitness.

It's a sad blow for all concerned, he's been playing 'very' well lately.

Like other posters I feel sorry for Richard Horne and I hope that he gets well quickly becasue he was beginning to play some good rugby. Regarding a replacement. I would like the coaching staff to be bold and consider moving Richard Whiting or Jordan Turner into the off-half position.
I am aware that there are some hard and important games coming up but with what should be hot weather and harder grounds 'around the corner', I believe either guile and or speed, will be what Hull need from the half backs and I think that either of these two players may be able to contribute those qualities better than previous replacements.
I would do this and keep Joe Westmerman in his current position, as a quick, ball-playing forward.[even though he has played in the half-backs in the past.

So is he having an op now or not?

May have been a slight overreaction in the heat of the moment, but I do think we'll miss Horne more than Obst when you consider the balance of the rest of the side. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Yeaman played with a hernia for a big part of the season a few years ago IIRC. Big call to keep playing Horne, but a very difficult choice.

id be tempted to rest him next week and then risk it and play him in the quarter final and then allow him to have his op

He's not having the op yet, decision will be made this week. Suppose it depends on when the club feel we need him most.

Iv had a hernia operation and you can deal with it for a while before your operated on...suppose it depends how long hes had it for! I think we will really miss horne,for me hes been on top form for most of this season...westy an obst dunt sound too bad though!!

Would have Fitz at prop mate, gives us more of a chance to spell him. Him to come into the starting side instead of Moa, who takes Hames place on the bench for me.
