Widnes will get in, it was almost nailled on once they were turned down unfairly in the last round of franchises. The thing that I don't agree with is that Widnes seem to have almost sat back with a cigar since winning the Northern Rail cup, which they did with a team full of loanees, and became almost also rans in the league comp for the last 2 years. Fax were 2009 runners up, are the current champs, tick the ground box so should be more worthy of a place.



A merger wouldn't work in Cumbria because the main cumbrian teams are so far apart, would a barrow fan switch allegiance to support a cumbrian team based 60+ miles away, that'd be as daft as merging a team from East Yorkshire with a team based in Tyne and Wear, it'd never work. Widnes will be the team to come in but IMO there could be one of four to go.

what do Crusaders, Catalans, or Quins do for the game or teams they play away, nothing.
none of these clubs bring any revenue to away matches and as when Catalan reached the cup final it was a joke to see their corner of support.

we have two teams who have been in admin in Wakey and Crusaders when Super League is all supposed to be about financial strength (and before it all starts I know we had our problems) but this is about now.

any one of these four must looked at as possible drop-outs and if I had my way I'd add Rovers to that bunch for good measure.

Ask Sky how they value the expansion clubs

Any club that relies on away support for revenue generation probably shouldn't be in SL anyway.

Widnes should get the nod today and IMO when the rest get annouced it should be Halifax in too for Wakey and Crusaders. Anyone who goes into administration should be kicked out for not being run properly. With no relegation no club should overspend.

Widnes is a cracking set up, in many way better than over half of the current SL, a rugby looney area and deserve their chance, well done to everyone concerned
