Obst to stay at 7 with Horne. Long on the bench. He has no right to displace either of them. Let him earn his shirt back...... If he can!

I was of the opinion that Long should be back in the starting line up when fit however Obst has done a good job thus far so deserves to keep his spot.

Obst must play. Also thought Horne did well again today. Long needs to stand and deliver so to speak. Obst and Horne have earned the right to their shirts for me.

So speaking the truth obviously hurts some people.

Obst could turn out to be a gem for us. Must admit I like his workrate.

Great little signing Obst!

He was brilliant today, mate. I'd love to see him stay in the halves but I think where ever he plays for us we'll see a class player, week in week out.

If he does, then maybe his 'street credibility' will improve in a number of peoples' eyes.

For me I think Obst in the games he has already shown more than Long has during his time at Hull. The only question is do leave Obst in with Horne which seems to be doing well and leave Washy as the interchange for Houghton or bring Long back in on to have Obst cover Houghton?

Personally think we would be wasting Obst by using him off the bench from what we have seen of him so far in a Hull shirt and think he may well go down as a signing no one thought much of at the time but one that will be viewed as a good signing in the end.

Like i say the issue for me is the interchange for Houghton as just feel Washy offers us nothing there at all.

Yer Houghton/Obst at hooker is obviously a hell of a lot stronger than Houghton/Washout but is that reason enough to remove Obst from the halves and not have him starting?

Is it a totally stupid idea to have Long on the bench and when Houghton needs spelling bring him on at 7 and move Obst to 9, then when Houghton comes back on take Long off and move Obst back to 7?

Long in at 7, Horne at 6, Obst replacing Washbrook on the bench. It needs to be tried and the sooner we do it the better. Washbrook has done little in his appearances this season to date and doesn't deserve a place.

Obst is now doing what Long hasn't done since he's been here. Organising the side and taking control late on in sets. The only reason to bring Long back in is so Obst can spell Houghton which is a shame.

I know what you're saying it's a tough one. But Long created 3 tries against Rovers which was his last full game and on balance we need our best players in the team IMHO.

Problem is i would not class Long as one of our best players. Too hit and miss and goes missing way too often. You know what you are getting with Obst, not a world beater but he has put more effort in today than longy has ever done in a Hull shirt.

Obst is turning into the top class player the club thought he would be, full of energy, quick thinking and a great asset to the team

Like I say it's a tough one but on balance having Long in with Obst covering 9 that is stronger than having washbrook in at all. I accept Long hasn't pulled up any trees but he had a decent game against KR and as such deserves inclusion. Obst/Houghton combo could be lethal over 80 mins - we need to see. Wakefield would be a good game to see - in my opinion obviously.

he is the missing link we have searched for , for some time, played well cant fault him but when the multi award winning world class scrum half is fit again he will play and Obst will go to the bench as rotation hooker as was always planned , until then he is doing a sterling job

The key for me is all 4 in the squad each week, we cannot afford to leave any of Long/Horne/Obst/Houghton out.

Obst had a cracking 1st half today but had no fuel in the tank in the 2nd

So one decent game, well 15 minutes of a decent game warrants inclusion. Washy is no world beater but one thing you do get from him is effort, and at times when your backs are against the wall that is what you need. I would rather have a player who is willing to spill blood for his team on the pitch than someone who turns it on occasionally when it suits him.

Long should be made to work for his place back in the team, rather than just saunter back in when he feels he is ready for a game.

All fair comment but for me Washbrook is a weak link in the team as things stand and I think he will be the one to make way if injuries don't require him elsewhere.
