Peter Ustinov. And besides, the point is Tony Smith is successful so it's never called into question, I've already said if Agar was doing well it wouldn't be an issue.

The team put the effort in on most occasions. I have yet to hear Agar take responsibility for his selections and pathetic interchanges he actually uses us to include the team therefore detracting any responsibility from himself. This was actually pointed out to me yesterday by an ex FC player who thinks it is disgusting that Agar does this, he played under Bunting and said Bunting would never have done that.

I couldn't care less about his accent - it's what he says that counts. Every time he talks it shows a complete lack of ambition. We hear the same stuff week in, week out and we're just not getting anywhere are we? Yes, the effort was there on Sunday, yes we defended much better than we have but the bottom line is that we still lost - again! Mentioning the fact that we lost at Millennium Magic and against Leeds and Huddersfield last season was a big no-no for me.

Agree with that, when I heard it I took that he was in someway actually making it as a reason/excuse for the Played 3 Lost 3. For me he should have said we looked to make the games we lost last season into wins, not well we lost these last season so its not that important kind of attitude that came across.

Does how he speaks matter?

I hear him speak on radio and tv and I'm looking to turn the sound off, whereas I have been to several coaching seminars and coaching sessions run by Justin Morgan, as well as listened to him speak on tv radio etc and I wish I was playing for him. Morgan motivates and inspires, in my opinion lesser quality players than we have (on paper but sadly we dont play on paper) to be better than us over last 2/3 years. Maybe why he is also much sought after on Sky n BBC to commentate when others are not.

Communication is the main tool you have to coach with: it promotes your leadership qualityies, motivational skills, selling your ethos of how the team should play and getting everyone to believe in it. Poor communication skills you might as well play snooker with a rope, or not be a coach.

Precisely why Agar (and Kear before him) should be regarded as nothing more than an assistant coach. Their technical skills are not in question. The problems lie with their ability to convert those skills into a credible game plan and the motivation of the squad at their disposal

Are you serious? Kear is ten times the coach Agar is. I seem to remember a game plan and motivational performance by him which is still my happiest ever FC memory.
