We have 14-15 good players the rest are average. Which is why we'll be pushing for 7th 8th not a top 4 finish which some chumps on here think.

This club just seems to be run by a set of amateurs,How long have people on here been crying out for us to sign Phelps,I'd say pre Christmas at least,what does Agar do?signs him 3days before the start of the season,subject to visa(possibly 12weeks).when I bought my pass in November,we still had Berrigan,Burnett and Tansey,although I don't condone what Tansey did,and deserved to be sacked,I can't help thinking we have been taken for a ride.I like many on here aren't very optimistic on the season ahead,and fear it could be a season of disappointment,unless we get some key signings made,preferably not requiring a visa.

We have a squad that "should" make the top 8. Top 6 would be a good season and top 4 is dream land.

Thats a very valid point, we must not be using his salary this season therefore where will it go..........

We'll struggle to make the top 8 with anything like an average amount of injuries through the season.

Phelps isn't a bad signing under the circumstances but it really does show what a total shambles of a pre-season recruitment campaign we've carried out !!

All these people having a pop at the club for only just signing phelps need to get a grip and realise that phelps was probably only just signed now due to the fact that the sammut deal is dead.

Obst would be a good shout to play off the bench at 9 and can play 7 too.

Higham would be a good shout as Clarke will be their no1 nine, just depends what Smith's plans are for Monaghan, will he go for Briers/Mylers or Briers/Monaghan as his 6 and 7?

I got told obst last week by scot murrell at the city game that he was coming so who knows . Would give the squad a decent balance as he can cover scrum half as well .

I have always liked Obst for his tenacity and durability, for me he's worth a shot if there is no one else out there.
