And the reason that questions about Agar do not get asked is because it would be incredibly disrespectful on such an occasion, I may well be going on Wednesday and although I question Agar's ability I wouldn't mention it, mainly because I know that the powers that be have a blind faith in him, I might be inclined to ask what the club would deem to be acceptable to be deemed a "success" next season.

I hope some-one does ask the question 'what is deemed acceptable', personally for me a top 4 finish is acceptable.
I would also ask about the h/back situation tbh...I want to know what contingency plans are in place considering the amount of time our h/backs were injured last season etc...though this may not be relevant by Wednesday

Would be a good and fair question after the last 3 seasons and in the context of the fans buying passes in numbers again. Agar has his team now and has been in the job nearly 3 years, so should know what he expects and what is expected of him.

Would be nice to hear the real situation, but unless someone comes in, I'd imagine they'll just list players who can cover the halves and say they've got full confidence in them, then make some cagey comments on recruitment about having space for the "right player" and not making signings for the sake of it.

every fan is entitled to their opinion thats for sure however the owners do not have blind faith in him but a faith because of his ability and his honesty which is clear to anyone around him , he is a class act as a coach and will provide the goods however i can assure you the owners have had their pound of flesh with him on more than one ocassion but as we have found in the past firing people does not solve anything , reinvent and redeploy thats the game at the KC.......
If you do come along make yourself known mate, have a beer with you!!
be nice to see you at the KC once this season only kiddin

This year though? Damage could be done by then.
I like the idea of Westerman at 13 with the freedom to run the wider channels and ghosting through gaps.

Not really what i would class as a loose man though. For me one of the reasons (there are a few) we struggle in attack is our inability to play a true loose man who can distribute the ball well and effectively becomes a 3rd halfback as well as taking the line on etc.
As much as i admire Fitz and his professionalism, he is a 2nd rower not a loose man.

Fitz plays a different role to what Westerman would.
In our side and with our tactics second row is perfect for him.

He'll be at 6 most of this year if Fitz plays, isnt that why hes been training to play at 6?
As for the forum, if i can be bothered to listen to the usual spin etc., i would be asking how a team, on reaching and winning a cup final, backed up with a GF appearance can slip so alarmingly down the competition ladder, not within 4 years but straight after from 2007 onwards. Problem is i'll get the usual injuries in key positions excuse etc., everyone has injuries but if we didnt sign injury prone players in those positions then we wouldnt have the injury curse on us. Look at Dobson's apppearance record for example. Are the coaching staff up to the standard we require and expect?
So Mr Rule, is it the players or the coaching staff?
I just wish we were as good on the park as off it.

Between 2006 and 2008 (the start of the decline) the following people were brought in;
Matt Sing - Good player but what's the point in wasting a quota spot and a high salary on a winger that never gets used?
Danny Tickle - Good signing in the end but was a big game.
Hutch Maiva - Crap, end of.
Willie Manu - Class, end of.
Wayne Godwin - Wasn't what we needed at all, Swain was an 80 minute hooker, why limit that?
Matty Head - Good signing, injury prone but was all that was out there at the time.
Adam Dykes - Quality player, very very injury prone, could we not have brought in a less risky player?
Todd Bryne - Nice guy, average player, criminal that we had a quota spot on him.
Peter Cussack - See above, would have been a good player in another team but in ours with Radders/Dowes already playing his role was wasted.
Shaun Berrigan - Quality player but was he what we needed at the time? We needed a leader out of dummy half and Berro definitely isn't that.
We lost players such as Cooke, Swain, Briscoe, McMenemy andThackaray in that time. Cooke, Swain and Briscoe was essentially the spine of the team that took us to the GF. So, in conclusion, I'd suggest it was poor recruitment.

| Yes i agree to a point, poor player recruitment in may cases, taking the cheap option and also buying "names" of end of career players but theres also being poor recruitment done within the coaching set up which couldve been avoided. RA was given a chance to earn his stripes, fair enough although at the time i wouldve gone with a tried and tested formula to keep the momentum going on the back of the 2 finals. I think Rich may make a good assistant like hes already proved but having a position in the hot seat at ANY club in the top tier his beyond his capabilities for me. I think 3 years in the position is more than enough to make a judgement.

| I'd disagree with you, buying 'names' at the end of their career isn't cheap. Even so, the 'names' we've brought in are Long, Fitzgibbon, O'Meley and they've done OK. Especially the latter two who are 2 of our best players. Players who aren't 'names' e.g. Bryne and Yak have done average jobs and perhaps were 'cheap' but with the cap as it is you can't spend £100k on every player. Berrigan was pretty much in his prime when he came to us but I'd prefer Fitz or O'Meley despite them by just 'names at the end of their careers' to him.

Tongans have always been non-quota. That doesn't mean they are non-fed. You're allowed five of each, but some will count as both, some will count as one or the other, and some will be exempt from both.
