Difference between hopes and expectations.

I'd like to see us play in a much more entertaining manner, much more fluid, much more of the style we played at Saints away.

We came 6th this year, just, with several important injuries. Next year, I'd hope to see us have a few less injuries, and would expect us to come in the top 5, hope top 4, with a win in the playoffs.

I'm hoping that we bolster our squad during the off season, too.

I expect a an Agar Out thread every time we lose a game, regardless of how well we're doing.

and every player out of form coming back from injury to be past it and that we should get rid

Hope for another year challenging to be in the top 4. Expect to have an average year and just make the 8

My expectations are to do worse than this season. Agar hasn't got a clue. it's alright getting better players in the squad, but it's also getting these player playing to coherent defensive and attacking structures, and being able to adapt when things are not going well. Agar has failed miserably on all of these, and nothing that he's shown in the last 3 season proves he's good enough in any of those departments

The half back situation isn't great, but is a smokescreen for our general poor play for me. With long and horne fit we may have won a game or two more, but we'd still have had the fundamental problems we have had all season. We are so far off the top 5 teams in the comp it's embarrassing given that we pay the same in salaries that they do.

I agree to some extent but we have a decent pack who work their balls off most weeks but nobody to capitalise on their work. All the top teams have a settled HB pairing and more importantly a plan B. I am sick and tired of hearing " if it wasn't for injuries " every team has injuries we don't hold exclusive rights. We under Agar have failed to cover for the inevitable and that's the difference between the clubs spending full on the cap.

Until we sort our shortcomings out in the centre of the park we will be lucky to make the play offs. Unless we are pulling off a major coup and getting a play off teams HB it seems evident to me that we ain't going to address the situation next season.

8th .... Lose first hurdle at play offs and quarter final challenge cup. Lose both derby matches

To be peaking when the play offs arrive, hopefully with a home tie.

The semis of the cup would be nice.

Normally I try to be optimistic so I'm going for the opposite plan of attack next season then I shouldn't be disappointed

Where is the money for this top prop and halfback bearing in mind we already have players contracted?

We should be challenging for the top 6 imo.

I would like a couple of good signings and for us to play better rugby too.

I also hope the fans see how the season goes rather than reacting to every win/loss. The Agar out threads in reaction to every defeat are nothing short of embarrassing, lets judge them over the season, if we don't perform next season then I have no doubt Agar will be gone.

A decent style of rugby?

Long will only play 50% of the season (not his fault)
Horne will try but fail to really deliver in Longs absence.
6-8th place finish at best.

We will sign a "star half back for 2012 to replace long.
Agar will be given a contract extension as he's a nice chap as far as the board is
concerned. The new half back will "pull all of Rich's master plan together to deliver in 2012".

For me, Agar is our No1 problem.

I have not 'so far' seen anything from him, that would suggest he can or will take us above being a mediocre team. Had we still had promotion and relegation, he would have been long gone.

Your absolutely spot on, which is why we absolutely must bring in a half-back for next year or the best we can hope for is a top 8 finish imo.

My expectations are to play attractive/entertaining brand of attacking rugby, show effort at all times, be consistent, get the little things right and be a very difficult side to beat.

Oh yes and have a much better +/- pts ratio than we have had over the last 5/6 years.

Get this sorted and the league postion and silverware should take care of itself.

Same individuals will whine about the same things on here week in week out with an Agar bashing thread everytime a player drops a ball or farts in a scrum .

On the footie front I would expect the incoming to have an influence on the club , having S:L & RH fit will be like having two new players anyway and a guide around the island which we have lacked this year.
Top 4 is realistic as you know we got into the playoffs with no halves so we should improve woth halves and back up which is on the way.

Cup run next year would be nice too

Long and Horne aren't going to do much next year even if fully fit. If it was 2005 it would be a top class combination...but it'll be 2011 and both have lost their pace.
