I just have a feeling that we may see one or two others out of the Wire game. Maybe a rest for Fitz's injury? Freshen Tickle up . No Tansey , Long or Horne. Could argue it both ways, put the kids in and let them have a crack at a possibly distracted Wire. If they do OK it's a moral victory , if we get hammered it's only to be expected and no reflection on our soon to be full strength side.
Personally I think if players are fit , they play and we shouldn't be in the business of picking and choosing (earmarking) certain games but I can see it happening.

If he is then he's an idiot, we need to be focused on the wire game and not looking any further than that.
If Long can play then he should play, any fatigue and he gets a week off after it, we need to make sure of 5th spot before we start looking at securing 4th.

I don't think Agar will do that, the point with Long is not to save him for the Leeds game but whether or not the Wire game is a week too soon for his injury, that should be the main concern.

Ultimately if Long is ready he'll play, if not he wont be risked. Doesnt matter who the opposition is.

Correct and the I think the Wire game might be too soon, he was back in the gym last week and is one week enough? If there is a risk then he might aswell get some more training in and be ready for Leeds and the playoffs.

The question was something around playing the 2 CC finalists the week before and the week after the final. He said that he didn't think the week before the final was a particular factor but that the week after is a massively difficult game as we've found out in recent years. He wasn't suggesting that the wire game wasn't winnable, just that it wasn't any easier than it would be any other week, whereas he intimated the leeds game was a big ask for leeds.

FWIW, I think we should go out early at wire and bang a few heads and make them start to worry about getting injured and hopefully may make them back off a bit. It's what basil did to us in 2005 when he brought wigan to the KC the week before the final

Paul, one thing is certain the boys are VERY focussed on the wire game, the club want points in hand not a maybe and what if game against leeds!!

We certainly need a good one, an away win against a top side would be a huge boost in confidence. The key man is Briers, watch the tries from the Wakey game and almost everything goes through him. We should be looking to win if we are serious about doing well in the playoffs and possibly doing well in the GF.

Lets hope they are all up for it!
