In relation to being battered by Radford, give over, he stepped up for Prescott in a charity fight surely you cant knock him for that.

I agree he is a shadow of his former self and yes he got levelled by Willie Mason but i would take him over Dowes & Cusack any day.

I'm not sure why people give him stick because of the punch by Mason. I'm sure anyone getting caught flush on the jaw by a punch from someone as big and strong as Willie Mason, would go down in the same way. He's better than Dowes, Radford and Cusack combined. On Fielden, good player on his day just seems very prone to making a howler. Think he'll be still want paying more than his worth due to his past reputation. Maybe a fresh start at Hull is what he needs to reignite his career which seems to have been on a downward spiral since signing for the pies.

If we do sign him I think we'll have the following playesr over 30:

fitz - 33
long - 34
radford - 31
manu - 30
dowes - 30
berrigan - 32
fielden - 32?

So the bulk of the pack will be at the wrong end of their career, not great for summer rugby
