It was not one of our best performances today and Longy had a poor kicking game. 18 - 0 was probably not a fair reflection at that stage of the game ,we had maybe 4 chances and scored 3 tries whilst Hudds got in some good positions but bombed a couple of good opportunities. Childs penalised us (unfairly IMO) out of the game in the second half and there was only going to be 1 outcome once the momentum (assisted by Childs) had swung Hudds way

If I'd been told we would be in 4th place after round 18 when I think back to how dire we were in rounds 12 & 13 v Wakey & Quins then I would heve been pretty chuffed. Today was not the best but I am confident that we can go on another 4 match winning run starting v Catalans on Friday.

Wigan, Warrington & Saints will take the top 3 spots, I think we will finish 4th, 5th, 6th which is a massive improvement on last year and I think we lose sight quite quickly of how far we have come since last season, (certainly going by the numtys texting into Humberside wanting Agars head again).

My only surprise is the number of games Huddersfield have lost this season.

Maybe the announcement in mid season of departures unsettled them a bit. The cup defeat to Warrington will have taken some getting over too.

But they are a very good team, better than their current league position suggests.

Hull are a decent team, a 5th-8th team, but Huddersfield are better than that when they get their act together. If you went there again next week you'd probably lose by more cos you wouldn't get a 18 point start again. But don't worry, someone else will be taking that pain for you and you'll be much happier.

To let an 18point lead slip is very disappointing, and I was fuming after the game.

but facts are that we are a mid-table mediocre side, who will most likely finish 6th-8th and limp out of the playoffs.

the team is flawed in far too many aspects to do any better I'm afraid.

You are so right - Just after half time - We are on the line after a scrum The ball comes to Tansey - he decides to flip it (cant think of a better word) to the wing and it goes out of play. IT WAS THE FIRST play after a scum on their line - we never after that play got into it. I dont want to knock a particular player but Jordan is like the girl with the curl - 'When hes good hes very good but when hes bad hes orrid'
All the things that he did before this were great - delayed pass to send in Yeamon - kick to the corner for try -but he has to be more consistant - Am I blaming Tansey for our defeat no but he was very much a part of it - If he is a full back he must catch very highkicks

Sounds like Childs was his usual self, he seems to get on a roll and batter one team. His calls are usually right in respect they're penalties but he seems to be more lenient with the dominant team at that time and consistently help the other team self destruct. We've had him 3 times IIRC and he's mullered us twice, 3 sendings off. I said before this weeks game it's coming to something when your crossing your fingers you get silverwood!!!
