First time post for me ......just cant let this chance slip , Rich whiting is a legend in the making considering the serious injuries he suffered both times he came back a better player, yet still only gets yearly contracts its about time we stop dangling carrots in front him and give him the bag!!!!! Wasted on the wing, not sure what the options are we the lack of wingers we have.

If Briscoe comes back we may be able to change things around a little, along with Manu, he needs to be the first player signed up for next year.

I prefer him on the wing to briscoe on all honesty dave.

He's safer under the high ball and has better positional awareness.

Good enough short term, but prefer Briscoe as more pace, briscoe will get better the more he plays.

My main point was that Whiting could be more useful to the team in the middle of the pitch, where he gets his hands on the ball more.

I agree with this. I think that the more Whiting gets hold of the ball, the better we'll look as a team. I'd love to see him get a run at 13, but with our lack of strength in the backs, it won't happen this season.

Was very impressed yesterday, he has gone very well this season from what I have seen, read and heard.

He was completely wasted on the wing, showed real drive and no little invention going forward when he moved later in the game, as others have said, lack of cover in the backs means he'll probably stay there.

If Moa and Hall get dropped after yesterday then and favourites are fairly obvious to me.

He's great under the high ball, Rises like a salmon.

He is consistently performing and plays 100%,a top fella,reads the game very well and what he lacks in speed,makes up for in attitude and effort

The longer he stays fit, the more game time he gets the more class the lad shows...
For utility value dont bet against him being picked for the end of season internationals either!!

Ive said he is having a good season, I stand by the fact that he wouldn't have gone to a big 4 club had he left at the end of last season, admit people have different opinions, it's very open minded.

Standee IIRC said Whiting was average at best at the beginning of the season however he has since had the decency to admit he has played well and seems to be proving him wrong.

You made it an issue by stating that your comments were 'not far off the mark'. Had you said that your comments were 'far off the mark' there wouldn't be an issue. You also tried to claim that your comments related to him leaving last year, which they quite obviously did not.
