| I actually think (as an HKR fan) that Hull's pack will eventually get on top which will see them win by about 12 points. The size of their forwards compared to ours is vast and although we can move the ball to the wings quickly, we have one of the worst offensive records in SL this year, so don't see us scoring too many points.
Having watched Hull's game on Saturday night, I think it's a must to attack Long and hope it's enough to subdue him.

We won't play like that again. We went into those games with a bad attitude, that won't be the case this time.

| As other posters have said it will all boil down to who wants it more.
We need our big name players to lead from the front. I hope someone has impressed on Fitz and Ogre how much this game matters to the fans. I'm sure Longy understands.
If anything I think losing to Salford may help us more than if we had beaten them unconvincingly because we may get a better reaction from the players.
I also think if we beat Rovers we have a better chance of beating Wire on the Monday but if we lose to Rovers it will be zero points over Easter.

| I think offloading the ball will be crucial for Hull and it will be the thing that either wins or loses them the game. We struggle with teams that offload and when it works FC do it pretty well. Wrapping man and ball will be vital if rovers are to win. Once games get unpredictable, i.e a pass goes to ground we lose shape and a potentially poor pass opens us up.
As for you having the flattest attacking line in the game, have you seen ours!!!!
Still think it'll be close but if i was to bet it would be for fc to finally get their 7th and 8th easy point since HKR were promoted.

We won't play like that against Rovers I mean. No doubt we will see another performance like that at some point, but not on Friday.

| Us by 16 at least..
Ok our away record is pathetic (apart from Saints)..however we have responded well after losing. Both sides know it is a Derby etc, so both teams will be pumping, however based on overall performances so far this season, FC are the better team IMO.

The fact that it is the first competitive derby the likes of O'Meeley, Fitz and Long will have played certainly is a positive factor for us as they will really want to perform well as they will know how big the game is.
The other plus point is that I sincerely doubt we can play as poorly as we did against Salford the very next week, there should be some kind of response.

| I expect a 16 all draw till the 79th minute when Radford will intercept a long cut out pass by rovers and then open his legs pin his ears back and prove to us what a world class player he is and how fit he is or will he simply drop the ball anyway or give away a penalty.......

| Depends which Hull FC turns up really, hopefully they will have had along hard look at themselves and the Coach included and come out on Friday fired up. If they dont then i can only see us getting another drubbing and the hands on Morgan and his merry men as he always gets them up for the derbies unlike Agar.

| With such a tight game predicted, could boil down to which coach has the most influence!
Don't understand the comments about our pack being too big for Rovers. Radford, Dowes and Moa are small for props.

Dowes maybe, but Radford is huge, shame he doesnt run his weight though, Moa might be small in height but is big the other way and very powerful.

The derby games usually go to the team that want it more, for that reason I think Rovers will scrape it. Hope I'm wrong, but the derby games of the recent era hardly fill me with confidence.

Can only see one winner! Horne will be a major influence on the squad and if Fitz, O'Meley, Lauaki, Manu can get on top of them, I think the hard work is already done. In Sean Long and (this season) Richard Horne, we have two good half backs who are more than capable of orchastrating a victory over the Red and Whites. Cusack should return and his experience should lift the team.
My only concern is who will throw the first punch. Moa, Lauaki, O'Meley or Long.
Here comes the Boom!!!!

| lets face it, we've been hurt by rovers in the last few years, the vast majority of the squad have been hurt by them so if hull go out there not wanting it then they are not fit to be in the profession they are in, we have to win aswell because warrington 3 days after a derby is a big ask, come on u ull !

| Not at all confident about this one, to be honest.
Morgan has proved in the past how he is much better at lifting his team for a derby game than Agar or Sharp before him.

| What a civilised thread given the subject matter.
As for a prediction, it comes down to whether Morgan can get Rovers fired up enough to win or if our Hull Derby debutants can up their game after last Sarurday for one which is so important to the fans.
If Longy can chuck some decent wide ball to Manu running up against Welham, Hull can score plenty out wide.
I hope they read this forum as I'm not sure Agar is tactically aware enough.
