Be great news if we sign Tickle, wasnt sure last year, but has stepped up this year (maybe without off the field influences), him along with Yeaman, Burnett, Houghton, Fitz and Manu are ones I would sign up now.

Hall, Dowes, Radford and Calderwood I'm not sure about.

Would choose either Dowes or Radford, possible Dowes as younger and the better player IMO.

Burnett's contracted till 2011 Dave.

What about Whiting?

Good news about Burnett I think he will push for a place next year, start him with Tickle and maybe use Hame as a prop. Manu off the bench.

Forgot about Whiting I would happily sign him up now, I see him as maybe Fitzgibbons long term replacement at LF.

Manu said the same thing about 2 months ago, still nothing yet, early days but we have a few players OOC, so they should be making a move soon to get the priority players signed.

Tickle wants to stay, fair enough, but decisions about who to retain are not to be made in March, June onwards for me, the Head Coach position is crucial first, that should come before mass signings/retention.

Dont rate the guy at all. If we are to challenge next season, we need to be aiming higher than Dowes.

If I really could be ars3d I would love to trawl back to your posts around that time and find out what you said about the club when Briscoe left to sign for Rovers for what I'm led to believe was not a considerable wage rise.

Sounds like he wants longer than 2 years from the HDM report. Hope we sign him as he's been our most consistent player for the last 3 years

Couldn't agree more. His form so far this season has been terrific, and his goal kicking outstanding. Well worth another deal.

Hopefully there is something in the Mail story rather than just a standard answer - I guess he is unlikely to say he [idoesn't[/i want a new contract.

Tickle has been back on form recently and his goal kicking is very important to us, it would be great to get him signed up for another couple of seasons.

The problem is that we will lose Cusack next season, Radford and then you dont want to keep Dowes.

That would mean that would need to sign 2/3 British props for next season, is their the quality available to do this? Is there is, then great, but I doubt it, even the top teams have players like Dowes in their team.

So unless their are 2/3 very good props avaialable that we can afford, then either Dowes or Radford need to be kept.
