fitz knows his own body and would be the first to tell agar if he needed a rest, i wouldn,t like to predict score on sat but every away game will be hard points away from home will be like golddust for most teams his season,there are no easy games this year

Its Round 7 and with the top 5 teams gridlocked on points, I don't think you can afford to rest any of your best players.

I totally agree, I agree we should field our strongest side no matter who the opposition is.

I wouldn't. We don't have the squad depth in the backs to get to OT and win. CC on the other hand, if we got past Leeds and a decent draw, might be on, particularly with Long's love affair with the cup (says in his book it's his favoured competition) and Fitz/O'Meley's big game experience.

Fair enough. I'd love to get to a major final again, and the CC is our best chance IMO. There are another 20-odd rounds in the league to try and make up for a loss at Headingley, but lose at home to them and we're only in one comp in April. Arguably that gives us a better shot at the play-offs, I suppose, but I'd love to get to Wembley again. No better occasion IMO.

I think Fitz should be rested more during the games tbh, as fantastic as he is we need to be careful not to burn him out as like you say it is a long season, the problem is I actually believe Fitz is the strongest leader on the pitch he inspires all around him his presence is influential, I know Long leads the team but he does not have half the impact Fitz does on that pitch. Hopefully we will get past Leeds and get an easier draw in which we can consider resting him.

I'd play Fitz but only in two 20 minute spells. With easter coming up, and with all due respect to Salford, we have much tougher tests to face in the next few weeks. If the loss of Fitz for 40 minutes is enough to cause us to lose to the worst team in the league then we really are nowhere near as good as the league table currently suggests.

The decission will probably be made by Fitz himself and I can't imagine him wanting to be 'rested' half a dozen games in to what could be his final ever season. Personally I think he'll need dragging off.

Me. We started the season with a 19 year old centre being given one wing shirt and no recognised first choice right centre. Are Leeds/Saints/Wigan/Warrington/Hudds in this situation?

2nd in the tackle chart and 6th in the carries. And he felt flat on Friday. Not bad is he.

And all done in the cold, wet and snowy conditions of an English winter. Can't wait to see if he has any improvement left in him if and when the warmer weather arrives.
