Hes had games for us in those 2 years and didnt do anything. Hes getting older now so injuries will start coming even more often.

If he can get fully fit he's a great player. Was in great form prior to the first knee injury. Big IF on the injury front though

A good 5 or 6 years left in him then providing he can get fit.

With all the injuries we've had over the past couple of seasons, I have personally felt that Motu's was the most significant for the club. A strange view perhaps, but when you consider the number of positions he can cover, we may well have been left with far fewer holes in the first team. The same goes I think for Richard Whiting. If a couple of years ago when things were really bad with injuries we'd had a fit motu and a fit Whiting, we may not have been in an injury 'crisis' at all.

As for his future, I really hope he gets another SL club. Given the lack of available players at the moment, and the fact that he would be fine on the visa front, I can't see why Crusaders don't go for him. They have a pretty skinny squad and the clock is ticking, he could over positions there as he did for us.

Pleased for Motu, hope him all the best down at Hull Rugby Union. Good bunch of lads down there, worked with them on some school rugby stuff and he will fit right in.

I find it strange though that he would go to Hull RU. He's 27 and a NZ international. Is his injury maybe that bad? Does he just want to stay in the area?

I'd have thought he would have got another professional deal? (although if the rumours are to be believed what Tevita earned when he went there maybe Motu has done the right thing)

He still does alot of work in the community for FC such as attending youth sides Christmas parties and visiting schools.

Good luck to Motu. Always gave 100% and never let us down. I would have thought he could have got a berth with another SL club or maybe NL1 but if he wants to go to Union that's his choice.

Not sure how playing in that backs in RU will prove anything, other than whether he can handle been cold or not.
