| If he were to go to Rovers it would be adding insult to injury but do they have the money or a quota place for him anyway?

I'd like to see Moa stay but if we can sign a provn overseas player then it is hard to argue against it. Depending on who it is and what position they play.

Good point that as was your earlier one about having a character in the side. When you weigh it up many if not most fans will support a side playing with passion, pride and character even if results don't always match up. For too long we haven't had the passion in the squad. The lack of home game atmosphere comes in part from the fact that the players haven't provided the spark to ignite it with their performance never mind the results.
If we bring in a big name signing then fair enough maybe Sam is a victim of circumstance. Those criticising the early signing of Yak have a point although Yak is a good forward with a pro attitude to his job by all accounts. But this big name should it happen needs to be just that - possibly I would say someone who would be classed as our biggest signing yet for 2010 otherwise the disquiet among the faithful will abound and rightly so IMO. An average utility back will not do. We'd be better off getting our pack firing on all cylinders first and waiting another year for a top back. Important decision this one.

| The only position I would like to see recruit is a Stand off, but it would have be a top stand off as we have a few players who can play there.
Also I would hope for young player, who could make his make on the team for a few years, a Todd Carney without the record.
Otherwise Sign Moa up.

| Totally agree about a 6 too. We were woeful in the halves again on Friday. Plenty of cover for the 3/4s. Has to be a 6 or keep Moa for me.

All depends on the quality of player coming in for me. If it is a genuine top player then we should bring him in, if not then keep Moa.
My only worry is it seems to be a centre we are looking at and I think we have that area covered already with Hall and Yeaman, with Briscoe and Whiting also options.

| Unless its Lockyer to partner long then forget it. We dont need a fullback got potentially 4 (Tansey, whiting, horne, J briscoe) dont need wingers or centres (raynor, calderwood, tuffour, Hall, yeaman briscoe and briscoe horney whiting and hopefully turner and lynn) stand off (horne, tansey, washbrook) and scrumhalf (long, horne, berro) What this light weight team needs is BIG BLOODY FORWARDS the more the merrier to protect the creative backs. Yak dowes radford and funky gibbon are work horses with medium impact. Orc ,hulk, manu even ticks and THE MIGHTY MOA are the game turners the big boys! the intimidators the fan pleasers! (AND LETS FACE IT WE GIVE THE CLUB MONEY).
For those who say Moa hasnt set the world alight, the last derby which for me was his baptism he was the best most influential forward out on the pitch in a game that truly mattered! Big hits, big runs taking 3 tacklers every run and plenty of productive off loading, and BIG SAM hasnt dissappointed since! Top 3 MOTM in most games. With better players he will inturn get better! Financially he must be a cheaper option then some NRL back that will only hinder tuffours, briscoes, lynns development!!
IF THE BOARD ARE SOOOOO DESPERATE FOR A BACK GET AN ENGLISH ONE AND KEEP SAM WHO PLAYS LIKE HE WAS BORN IN A BLACK AND WHITE JERSEY!!
The fans want him, do the right thing FC it makes sense long term! He is the type of player that allowed to go to another SL club will haunt us!!!

He has done that. He should be rewarded for his efforts by Hull FC.

| Does anyone know for a fact that the club aren't trying to keep him, maybe his wages demands are excessive? I remember the same arguments being had about Treister.

From the little I was told the club had been looking overseas at some player options before Moa started his run of good form. Nothing had been finalised but they were keeping their options open in case something came up.
I am hoping that as the weeks have gone by that Moa playing so well has now proved himself to be a real option for the quota spot. I guess the club just want to make sure they get the decision right and also the balance of the squad. They have Dowes, Cusack, Lauaki and O'Meley to play prop as it stands but having Moa would mean Lauaki could play backrow and be switched with Manu on the bench.
Moa is on peanuts this season so he would need a decent payrise for him to stay. That said he took the deal on the basis he had to prove himself, now he has done that he should be rewarded with a better contract with more incentives providing he keeps improving. The money is there, Agar just probably wants to make sure he uses it right.

The only way I'd look to bring a centre in is if yeaman leaves. Whilst it would be great to have a top class centre again it would stifle teh opportunities for hall and briscoe
