I dont think he was at prop when he released Whiting to draw his man (as I would expect) to release Briscoe. Whatever we think Hame has been used wide out at times so far.

I know he has been used in the 2nd row mainly but currently we have 4 fit props in the squad. Next season we only have:

dowes
o'meley

As specialist props currently signed up, whereas we have:

tickle
fitz
radford
washy
burnett
manu
lauaki
turner
whiting

who are all considered back rowers

I think fitz, radford and lauaki will spend time at prop

I think it's about players being able to play in different positions to the required standard. Where we fail totally in that is at SO where we have proven to be clueless. Lauaki will be played in the SR next year I believe.

i think Moa will sign.

Moa is a must if Lauaki is going to played in the back row. We need some impact in the props.

Luakai will have to channel his agression.
He is a cowd pleaser no doubt , but other teams and Coaches will target him for a reaction.
He could turn out to be a penalty giving away machine?
I wonder how many Red /yellow cards he will get next season ?

I know what you mean, but the fact we won the fairplay award and finished 12th sums it up.

He's not going to please everyone with his approach but he definately brings that extra aggression that we've been lacking. This gives all of the players around him a lift too.

I would rather not win the fair play award but finish top 3!

The other view on this is that refs often even up a penalty count every game anyway, if we give 2 away for fighting rather than offside what does it matter anyway.

Exactly. And the fighting option is one hell of a lot more fun to watch.

Indeed. People also forget that sometimes a bit of aggression lifts the performance of the entire team. (and also with a pack like ours next year there aint gonna be many scraps we come off 2nd best)

Lauaki's going to be a loose cannon for sure, but knowing there's some aggression coming on from the bench and that opposition teams might not look forward to it is a step on from this season.

It certainly lifts the crowd too which is no bad thing.
