I was thinking the same thing. Are they trying to put potential supporters off for good? You should only give away free samples of something if the product is good enough to then make them want to go out and buy it.

Sorry, think I'm missing the point here. Club organises a giveaway with a "2 tickets for 1 voucher" system. There has to be a limit on this due to capacity restrictions. It's a first come first served basis and there are tickets still available at the end of day 1. If a group of 10 work colleagues decide to go, by collecting 5 vouchers between them, this system means that means that only one of them has to go to the KC as opposed to 5. Even if the restriction per person was applied people would get round it by queuing twice/giving bogus info - any system like this is open to abuse. I'm clearly missing the point of the hissy fits on here, so could someone list the grievances? The capturing of personal information is a potentially a missed opportunity but unlikely to be a material one IMO.

No restriction was advertised, no control over number of tickets per voucher.

but no doubt if they did ask for details people would moan it was breaching their privacy.

I don't think the promotion is a good idea, because the rugby is so poor it could put people off ever wanting to pay to attend. And we should have done it much earlier in the year to try and give the side a boost.

but I can't see how anyone can whinge about getting a freebie. Im very annoyed at the club at the moment, but people need to get a grip they are doing people a favour letting them in free.

Ticketing etc is managed through the SMC. You can all continue to lay full blame on Hull FC though if you wish.

Well, there has to be a restriction, as the ground has a finite capacity. Whether the capacity for this offer is 1k or 10k is another point. I'd hope it wasn't more than a couple of thousand TBH as FC have to pay £7 per head to the SMC don't they?

I thought there was control over the number of tickets per voucher as the OP seemed to suggest some had taken in 10 vouchers for 20 tickets. If this is the case, this is no different to someone last year queuing up with 70 odd passes for CC final tickets, apart from the fact it's first come first served so if people were that bothered they should have gone on the first day after which there were tickets left. Maybe the restriction should have been spelt out better, but the existence of an availability limit is implicit in the fact that the ground has a finite capacity.

As spooky points out, these people could be put off for life, so disappointing it's sold out.

I think that is a good point, the ticket office run by the SMC have handled the issue but its a shame if some folks are dissapointed. As for taking lots of vouchers is no different as you say to people queuing for Final tickets last year.

The other point is that one would expect that the club will have to limit the offer because under the terms of the SMC agreement they (the club) will have to cough up half the notional cost of each ticket given away!

My father in law who's a season take holder has said that he'll go watch amateur rugby league next season as its a lot more entertaining and better value then Hull FC at present.

Actually I'm working till 10 so won't be in Salford either.

Should have made it one voucher per person to avoid a situation like this with them being abused, i dont care if it means hundreds have to queue

anyone could easily get hold of more than one copy of the HDM for 38p for 2 tickets, even if you knock them out for a fiver a piece its easy money.

Lots of promotions have a one voucher per person rule
