Well, this may buck the trend, but I couldn't give a $h!te. The way Iour team was structured, we miss Paul Cooke more than any other who has left in the last 3 years.

Perhaps thats the sign of a one dimentional team, relying so much on one player. But lets face it, for the period from 2005 - very early 2007, it certainly worked.

I would actually go as far as saying that we would have been grand Finalists in 2007 had Cooke stayed.

I think the reason people aren't commenting on Crooke is the way he walked, not as if there was anything we could do about it.

As much as I admire your occasional ability to have a neutral, balanced view, you are wrong on this matter. I was Calderwood's harshest critic when we signed him, and I was disgusted with everyone who said he could be o.k for us. He has proved me wrong though. He is unlikely to ever beat his marker, and it's doubtful he'll go the length of the field for us, but he will give more effort than almost everyone else in the squad week after week. It is true that we as a Hull fans totally overrate him because he's ours, and we denounce Dixon's ability because he's not ours, but the fact remains that Calders is the more accomplished winger out of the two. To my amazement, he's even outperformed Dixon defensively this year.

But for me Calderwoods career is in decline and Dixons is on the up. Kirk is putting the ball over the line pretty regularly and his improvement has been there for all to see. he has also scored some very good tries with very few walk-ins. I like my wingers to score tries (a little old fashioned these days i know) and Dixon is doing this, Calderwood isn't and hasn't for a couple of years.
As for defensive performance there is very little between them statistically so i'm not sure how you can say Calderwood is outperforming Dixon in this area.
Calderwood only advantage over Dixon imo, is experience and besides i have to side with Dicko coz he's in my Fantasy team

Dixon is a better player than Calderwood. People are confusing "ability" with "effort".

That's a good team on paper. Each player would be an improvement on what you have now, in my opinion.

Let's look at it this way. Every single player that Hull FC have released on that list are now playing at a Super League team higher in the league than Hull FC. I know that doesn't automatically mean they're all better players, but it's still quite interesting.

It isn't really, because every player on that list is playing for a half decent coach.
