But Whiting is a better centre than Graeme Horne, a better stand off and a better loose forward.
We are never going to have a fully fit 17. Whilst we don't need half a dozen utility players, Whiting would be ideal.

| Whiting is a quality Utility player that we need....maybe one of two Utility players we need within the squad. I would like to see him at 13 next year and spell it with Washy.
If we retain Whiting there is no room in the squad for two of G Horne, Lee or Tony, taking into consideration Tansey will be with us.

| If his demands aren't high then he should be kept imo but like others have stated I think he will only be a squad player beacuse I'm hoping for a better quality centre.

| Whiting never really lets you down , not blessed with any great pace but wil do a decent job.
If the salary demands are reasonable he deserves to be retained.

| like to see him have a go at LF and us play with a more ball playing LF then the plodder options that we seem to be using this year. Interception king but with lead in his boots. ( If he had the pace he'd be a shoe in for centre)

| Done well since his return and obviously has a football brain, and we aren't spoilt for choice in our side with those. Like Wilf would like to see him at looseman, Radders will never be one of them while he's got a hole in his.....well, you know what i mean.

| You can almost gaurantee that every game he will get an interception, great player, but want to see him at Loose Forward or the second row, hasn't got the pace to be a centre, although he and Calders are partnering pretty well.

| I said at the start of the season Rich Whiting and Danny Washbrook should be contesting the Loose forward spot.
I'd be happy to see him given another two years to establish himself in the team. Great player with a fantastic attitude on and off the field.

Yup, utility for cover, and it depends what kind of salary he wants and whether he wants to be a first choice player. Depends what promises Agar can give him around playing for me.
IMO i really do rate Whiting but i think it may be better for him if he wants game time to go, and it may be better for us if we want to recruit the world class centre etc to let him go along with several others to free up cap space to make the class additions. May well be an unpopular view but i guess sometimes those tough calls need to be made to build a real class squad rather than one with numerous utility players.

| I would keep only one of Whiting, Lee, G Horne and Tony. We just don't need all of that average utility, especially with Tansey coming in.
For me, it would be Whiting everytime !!

He's been better than Yeaman this season. Maybe we should replace him instead?

Or maybe it's just that some people think he's a better player than Whiting. I don't think anybody's untouchable but I have an opinion and if both players became available I'd hazard a guess which one would attract the most interest and wouldn't be because he was from Hull.

Yes I do, Whiting has done well but Yeaman has still been the better centre. All they are fairly worthless the stats would also back that up.

I think Yeaman has had a poor season. Flies out of the line way too many times and misses the tackle, Shows little vision in attack and seems almost incapable of putting his winger away. As someone has mentioned earlier, he's a fraction of the player he was when he won his GB cap and at times earlier in the season looked largely disinterested.

Disagree with most of that, Yes he jumps out of the line at times, often as he has been left out on a limb by the rest of the defence. He often makes those tackles though and has also saved plenty of tries. He makes good yardage from his dummy half runs. He seems to be giving Briscoe some decent balls but in fairness Yeaman hardly gets a decent pass which imo is why he does not look as good as he did 2/3 years ago. I don't think he looks disinterested in the slightest.
I don't see Whiting putting Calderwood away that often, he also misses tackle even if he does not jump out of the line.
Yeaman is a better centre even when he is not at his best, put him in Leeds side and people would see a completely different player.
