I think it might have gone unnoticed (the one time I mentioned it here) but we - hullfc.tv - covered the RL Factor day/night in all its kareeokee glory with a couple of HD cameras, including (very funny) early afternoon soundcheck interviews with C Hall, R Horne and also some others like Thorman half way through the night. Richard's testimonial year is jam packed full of events, so once we've decided how much of the night will be released, we'll start rolling out the trailers...

Speaking as someone who's watched the entire RL Factor footage quite a few times...regardless of learning challenges, Chris was, debateably, the best on the night, in terms of pitch, projection, volume, etc. I know I sound like that uberdevil Simon Cowell, but bear with me.

Chris was flat a few times today but I think that was mostly due to what music was going through his earpiece, the acoustics of the KC and what the PA was sending out.

I think a short doco for hullfc.tv about how Chris went from being a regular guy struggling with the prejiduce of being learning-challenged (someone else's words not mine) to winning RL Factor in front of 1200+ ppl and then singing in front of 22000+ ppl at the KC would be highly inspirational to watch?

If he can do it, then why can't you? etc.

I did say Chris sounded a tad 'Sheepy'.......And I detest the Will Young warble in any singer. I'm sure Chris wouldn't mind a bit of constructive critism........With todays 'sound' at a major singing comp......The press would've slaughtered him anyway......FACT!!!! The announcer mearly said that he was the winner. There was more black and white than red and white in my row, and everyone said the same as the original poster, embarrasing. Nobody was aware of any learning difficulties.

Needs locking and deleting now.......The kid hopefully doesn't come on here!!!! (And don't even add to that comment!!!!!!!!)

All you self righteous types, answer me this:

If you didn't know the guy had learning difficulties and you thought he was just the half time entertainment/RL factor winner, can you honestly say you wouldn't have said anything negative about his singing?

It's easy to be holier than thou if you know the full story, but people pass comment on our pre-match/half time entertainment all the time - usually in a negative way - without any of the backlash they've had today.

That counts me out then.......At least i'm honest....he did sound 'Sheepy'!!!!

Whether or not you would have started a thread about it is immaterial. People are having a go at the OP for laying into the kid because he has learning difficulties. But if he didn't know that, it's hardly his fault.

The point I'm making is, if the guy didn't have learning difficulties and he was just booked to be the half time entertainment, he would have fallen below the standard we could reasonably expect.

I admired the kid for having the ball$ to do something like that today anyway. Even more so now I know about his learning difficulties.
