Sorry, i have been quick to fault Craig in the past abut today he certainly wasnt useless. He made our first try down the left wing, to pass to Yeamo who dinked it to Brisc
But i agree he was too casual in bringing the ball back sometimes, like when he got tackled in goal

| Quote ="tommyfromhull"For the majority of our last matches there have been players who have simply been too lazy and don't look interested in the game, and its NOT good enough
Thorman - Passes the ball when receives and makes poor kicking decisions
Berrigan - Although today he seemed to switch on in the last 25mins and really up his game, aside from a few scoots from dummy half he simply collects the ball and passes to the first receiver. He is a top class player who has not been using his skill enough
Manu/Radford - Taking the ball stood still! Far too many times! Run onto the ball, create speed and momentum! its not brain surgery!
Hall - Collecting the ball in the in goal area and curving his runs/jogs out, then being dragged into touch. RUN STRAIGHT MAN! I think his runs from full back collecting the kicks are improving, but still his runs often look laboured and lazy
These problems arn't anything to do with the players' skill. We know these players have the skill, its just them using it! and when it comes to the last 15/20mins, like last week, we seem to choose to up our game and create chances.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!'" Good post, couldn't agree more. I would also throw into the 'lazy pot', chasing down kicks on the last tackle. Shaun Briscoe wasn't pressured enough when collecting them, plain lazy.

we all get carried away but i guess that Hall will be on the wing monday with Thorman at fullback, looks like Briscoe will be out. ![Confused icon_confused.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_confused.gif)

| oh goody back to the same situation as last year then, no direction in the middle.
How many coaches need to come in and ignore the fact we have no decent playmakers?

EXACTLY! same thing as last year! we bought Thorman as a scrum half.
We need Motu and Raynor back asap before we have even more bad deja vu

| The fact we bought Thorman as a scrum half means we should stick with it, god knows how many combinations we tried last year and they all failed, why people think it would be different this time is beyond me.
It all boils down to the coach/board still not having the foresight to sign a couple of players one who is a dedicated Scrum half and someone else who can step into that position should the need arise.
What is the point of having a team of decent forwards with decent wingers/centres but nobody to marshall them about on the pitch, teams are built round good halfback pairings not around forwards etc.

| I have to say that for the majority of the game, the FC boys did not look interested.
Yes they are good in arm wrestle, which today was, but they have to rise above that.
Craig Hall - certainly not the 'go forward' threat of Briscoe.
Calderwood - tried his hardest but just isnt cutting it
Yeaman - what the f**k happened today? He's meant to be a Talisman
Briscoe - great effort, no supporting act
Berrigan - always 100% but again, no supporting act
Thorman - had his chance to win over the 'undecided' - wasted it.
Horne - great to see him improving
Forwards - not taking it from deep enough, Thackray looked up for it, but Radford, Manu, tc just didnt have the cutting edge.
Hull are best in the offload and the quick play of the ball.
But they looked tired, no bounce out of teh tackle when on the floor or on impact.
Tactics werent wrong (they dont apply as much in a derby) but if 75% of your team dont really want the win, then it doesnt mattter what you say as a coach, or draw out on a whiteboard - if your players dont want it, its falling on deaf ears.
Someone has alluded to it in an earlier post, but the Cancer in the sqaud is still there. It needs to be removed.

thats fine when theres no injures, who plays on the wing with Briscoe possibly out, Hall seems obvious choice.

We were already light on backs at the start of the season, so to be missing Tony, Raynor, Byrne and Briscoe is a bit of a sickener.
Hall
Calderwood
G Horne
Yeaman
R Horne
Thorman
Whiting
Washy (who doesn't seem match fit)
Lee (more of a forward than a back)
Pick any 7 from those. ![Sad icon_sad.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_sad.gif)

| I have to speak up for Willie Manu here. He was FAR from lazy and worked his ass off. He was out on his feet at half time, but kept working hard through the 2nd half.
Some of us noticed Mr Manu!

| lets not start a Slate Calderwood fest again, the bloke can be judged if he is ever in a position to score tries which with the way we are currently playing means he wont be judged for a long time.
