Quote ="spegs"In 2005 with a mixture of youth and experience the club, against all expectations, beat arguably the three best teams in the country at the time to win the Challenge Cup.
The following year, despite losing the head coach, the team reach the Grand Final and the “big four” myth looks to be firmly dispelled as Hull are tipped for bigger and even better things.
Surely, after learning the lessons in the early nineties when ,after beating Widnes to win the Premiership, Hull and the shiny s in charge effectively disbanded that successful team, surely, not even Hull will make the same mistake again….
Well here we are at the start of 2009. The past two to three seasons we have had:
1.Fielding an illegible player in the Challenge Cup
2.Cookiegate
3.Released the best full back in the country
4.Not signed M Dobson because he was “too expensive”
5.Had little or no feedback regarding key club issues from the “board”
6.A continuation of the drink culture at the club
7.Very mediocre players continuing to earn contracts
8.Poor, bland unattractive rugby (see 2/4/6/8/9 for root cause)
9.Signed average “journeymen” and below average imports
10.Been overtaken by Hull KR – a club that 3 years ago looked at us with big wide open eyes. However, through shrewd coaching and a board that gives a f**k, have come good
11.Essentially the board have taken the p**s out of the fans – again
12.Recruited an “A” team coach to “lead” the club
The 5 straight wins at the start of the season [ialmost[/i papered over the cracks, [ialmost.[/i
In three years the team has gone so far backwards it is almost laughable. We go into a derby on Friday EXPECTING to lose as a result of the mismanagement both on and off the field. Yet still our average attendances are at a level most clubs can only dream about and the passion on the terraces continues, albeit fans are becoming more disgruntled at the current state of affairs.
We have a boy doing a man’s job in the most important role within the club – Chief Executive. A Marketing degree from Durham Uni enough to lead this great club into the future?…..I don’t think so.
With 5 minutes to go today I can honestly say I didn’t care as to whether we won or lost. I have shed more tears of joy and sadness watching this club over the years than I care to mention.
Today my apathy worried me….'"

n0 10 : says it all for me !! how true this seems to be . hurts like hell too !! i have been reduced to a pay on the day , pick my games supporter . never will i be ripped off by our board again . they lie & hide behind things , simple as that !! there will be no cup money or finals to vanish behind this season . i bet they feel like a single deer in a 1000 acre open meadow !! open to attack & vunerable . good !! that's how we feel when every mistake they make hit's the press & opens the supporters up for ridicule by our supposed weaker neighbours . hkr are switched on & dangerous , hull fc need to pick up their game & fast .
