So on the one hand you're saying Gentle should know more than us about players available and their suitability, but by the same token don't seem to be accepting that his knowledge and apparent approval of Miller are enough to prevent you from casting doubt?

Here's an idea. Why don't we get all potential signings to come on 7 days approval (that's Standee's approval of course). If he says yes then we sign them, if not we still sign them. I think I'll stick with PG's opinion, it seems more informed.

The article mentions how he was dropped "to address his defensive play, kicking game and overall involvement" which from what I saw was a fair summary - he just seemed like a young lad who was a largely peripheral figure.

To be fair to him Marshall and Farrar seemed to want to dominate everything and it can't be easy for an inexperienced 20 year old half back in those circumstances. Hopefully Marshall will be out and everyone can see what he can or can't do.

At this stage, all you can say is it would be a big risk for us to sign such an unproven player (maybe worth taking mind.) If we gave him 3 years on a very good salary and he turns out to be the next Mark Herbert then we are in trouble.

I've seen footage of him at u20s on youchoob somewhere, he has a lot of natural ability but hasn't got the chance to show it for first team so far, I'd sign him before it drains away!
