As others have mentioned, Briscoe is coming to fullback from a position where minimal passing is required.
Compare that with Sam Tomkins who moved there from the halves with a great passing game and the difference is unreal.

imo if you put Briscoe in a team with good players around him , with a good 6 n 7 actualy puting him into gaps he would be world class

Along with Pitts, who had another good game for us. Strong in the tackle and good hands, impressed with this signing.

Yes O'Meley had been mentioned as a possible target for us (and he may still be for all I know), but he didn't enhance his reputation against our very lightweight pack last night, wasn't terrible, but I was expecting him to really cut through us.

Lynch on the other hand is the perfect professional, just gets on with his game drives it in whether the rest are playing well or badly.

Stick to rumours or the thread goes.

If there is any positive news that the club are holding back (Chase or holdsworth), then early this week would be good time to announce it.

Martin offiah was woeful at passing, was he average?

Tom Briscoe is being played out of position, hence his reading of the game will not be like that of Billy Slater.

Singling any player out is unjust after last night. Manu, O'Meley, Turner, Crooks, Lineham were all as guilty as Briscoe form multiple knock ons. Seymour offered nothing in attack and our forwards looked weak.

Don't you think the games changed a little bit now and moved on to how it use to be . If your talking about wingers from offiah era what about the role of full back and hookers , and how they've changed .

From a wingers point of view the game hasn't changed that much. If anything, Offiah was one of the first breed of wingers who came infield to help out the forwards by running the ball from dummy half.

Doesn't get round the fact that offiah was poor at passing. Of course, for much of his career he had no reason to pass as his halves had done their job by creating the space for him to utilise his pace.

The issue with Briscoe last night wasnt his passing - it was his catching.....
