Not the good old Paul Cooke rumour that does the rounds every off season. A mate of mine said that he heard off one of the sons of a coach at Hull that he was coming back on a pay as you play contract(can you even do this with a live salary cap?). I told him that it was bull but since heard it a few more times, still think its bull, the club are not stupid enough to make a move for him and lower their average attendance to Cas/Wakey standards and half the money made though merchandise.

So who then? There is no one else playing RL who would make fans want to get a refund on their season passes!

I can understand why you won't name the player, unless you talking bull and just want to wind a few people up.

I'm perfectly prepared to put my hands up and look stupid if this is wrong (in fact, i'd prefer it) but i don't think it is!!

Talks are at an advanced stage and his club have already signed his replacement!!

If it's not already signed then it will be in the next 24/48hrs

why the need for secrecy on here though?? are we paying a fee? he is contracted with his club next season.

If i'm wrong, said player doesn't sign and i look daft - But i'd be happy.
If i'm right, he signs and my 100% record continues - But i'm not happy with that.

However,

EXPRO's offer will make a fantastic bookmark if he does sign!!

Surly can't be any worse then when we signed warren jowitt.

Horrific because I don't rate the guy as a player that much.

Awesome because I think it'd be worth it just to see everybodies' reaction on here upon announcement. Biggest laugh of the offseason.

The only player I could think of that would provoke such a reaction signing for us other than Cooke would be Ryan Bailey

I have no problem with the signing. Don't like the guy but he does a good job for his current club and would be better than some people we have in the same position.

Begs the question if true, and its a big if, why we re-signed Dowsie!!!

Signing or potential signing? Calderwood won Hull fans over, can't see why Mr. Mystery wouldn't. As you say he'd improve your squad and allow you to keep other players in their best positions, IMO.
As a Rovers fan I'd certainly prefer you to sign no-one. Be a tad surprised if is current club are looking to offload, but.

Think a couple of people are overreacting just a tad. Even if the rumour is true it's hardly earth-shattering.
