| Good signing imo. Not exactly the most exciting player in the world, but if the rumours are true about Dykes walking out then bringing him in on a 1 year deal makes perfect sense to me. He'll do a job at halfback next season and if he plays well then he may even get a long term contract, however it looks to me as if he's just been brought in to cover at 6/7 for a year and then we'll bring in a top class scrum half in 2010.

| Happy enough with this. Looks like Webbo's taxi has arrived.
Look forward to seeing him pull on the black and white. May give us some different options to the same old same old and will certainly add reasonable quality depth at half back and (emergency only) full back.

| Since the announcement of him signing earlier on, i've heard a lot of criticsm! Which dissapoints me really.
Chris Thorman is a well drilled player, one i rate, we've just taken Huddersfields captain off them, he's a good organisational player which is what we need around the park he's also an excellent kicker.
I think with the players around him he could become a good signing. Prove me wrong. But i doubt it.

| decent signing for me, i allways thought he was a dangerous player for the tiny.s against us...i understand some fans frustrations, but what are we doing here, slagging players before they have put a shirt on.like it or not,and some fans dont behind the saints we got to most finals since 2005.so someone somewhere must have a bit of a clue i guess.i say slag them before you see them, hang your head.we are supposed to be fans at the end of the day.

| I was gutted when he turned us down years ago so I'm happy we finally got him. Certainly not a poor mans Rich Horne, he can organize to a degree and kick well. Shame he's 28 now but he has been pivotal in every team he's played for in this Country. I will be happy with Horne or Thorman at fullback but don't reckon either is a scrum half. Webster or Dykes at 7 with Thorman or Horne at 6 sounds better than any partnership we've had this season! I still think Webster is the only proven scrum half we have and if we get rid of him then we have 3 stand off halves to pick from IMO.

Dykes may have worn 6 during most of his time at Cronulla but in all fairness, he plays like a 7 (which is probably why him and Kimmorley never hit it off) much the same as Cooke did during his time at Hull FC.

You'd be happy with Thorman at fullback? You been on the hard stuff?

| A decent goal kicker but that's about it. Considering who's coming in for him i'm not sorry to see him go tbh. I wish him well though and thanks for your service Chris.

Obviously the reason why we`ve signed Thorman as this leaves us with a non-fed spot for a big rough ar**d forward.

He was, the last game he played, prior to being dropped due to his SL announcement he started for Australia at Centre, spent a short spell at 6, moved to 9 and then back to Centre IIRC he was then taken off injured.

Sorry your right
team from the ANZAC test 20th april 2007
Australia: Hunt (Brisbane); King (Melbourne), Lyon (Manly), Hodges, Tate, Lockyer (all Brisbane), Thurston (Nth Queensland); Kite (Manly), Smith (Melbourne), Civoniceva (Brisbane), Hindmarsh (Parramatta), Mason, Ryan (both Bulldogs). Replacements: Bailey (Gold Coast), Berrigan (Brisbane) , Simpson (Newcastle), Tupou (Sydney Roosters).
Berrigan was on the bench, Was right about him losing hooking role to Smith though if its worth half a point.

| A short-term sticking plaster on a long-term gaping wound. If the 1 year deal results in us using both his and Dykes' wages to get in the scrum-half we need for 2010 then it's as good as we can hope for. Viewed on its own, yet another in the growing list of underwhelming Hull FC signings.

| good player, i can see why he only signed him for 1 year, because next year we bring the big guns over, i can see todd byrne and/ or webster going if offers come in, thorman covers all backs and has a good goal and free style kicking game, this allows some pressure to be took off tickle, i would now like to see the backs
Tony
Calderwood
HORNE
Yeaman
Raynor

| No shadow of a doubt this signing has come through Jon Sharp, but I think its a very smart signing when you look at the injury crisis we've had this year.
He can cover 1, 6 and 7, all positions which we've had major injury problems at this season so his utility value will be highly anticipated.
FWIW I think we should go with...
6. Horne
7. Thorman
Either Dykes or Webster has to go, and tbh i'd rather it was Dykes, we'll get more game time from Webster and he isn't on the quota!
We still need a new centre though imo!

rich horne would be a world class centre.. he has everything you need as a centre , pace passing and tackling... also i think thorman would be great partner with dykes and horne outside them both would be fansastic

| The one year is great news for Hull, we can look for a top overseas halfback for 2010, which i think Agar will be trying to do on his trip.
Gives Thorman a chance to earn a deal, and if does well we could possible use Horne in another position. (Or this season if Dykes stays fit )
By signing Thorman we are stronger for 2009.
I think Huddersfiled have taken the wrong option and should have kept Thorman and released Robinson.
For the Rovers troll, he would get into Rovers team in front of Cooke, as he is a better allround halfback than Cooke and more consistant.

| imo thorman will be back up 7,6 and 1 in that order. he isn't better than tony or byrne at full back, horne at stand off or dykes at 7 but no doubt someone will get injured so he'll give us good cover.

I'd have me in front of Byrne at FB, he offers nothing from there IMO.
Should be either used as wing cover or shipped off (if possible)
