And businessmen make business decisions without any concept of the importance a sporting club has to supporters. Kath and co aren't running the local shop. Hull FC means a lot to a lot of people and running it just like a business is not the best way to do it.

I'm happy that we make a profit and have a nice shop etc, but I'd swap every Hull FC water bottle, pair of slippers or Airlie Bird hat for a decent, well coached side playing their hearts out, playing attractive, exciting rugby, winning (or going close) and keeping the fans happy.

And of course we didn't set out to be where we are, but the board are the only ones who can make the changes needed to get to where they did set out to be.

An odd statement coming from someone who once claimed to have been asked to come on here to counter 'negative' posters.

why is it, only a few posters on here are even bothered with it, it was a booked vacation, booked before the season started , no one else cares but a few on here ?? not odd at all

Things aren't bad though. We're making a profit. It seems that's all that matters.

And we're having some cracking training sessions, apparently. Maybe in another three years our performance at training will start to translate into results on the pitch.

Makes me laugh how they bang on about the training sessions

Surely part of any business plan is to also look to the future. It's fair enough saying "pass sales in the bag, shirt sales in the bag" but is what we have made this year going to cover what doesn't end up been made next if (

) things don't improve. You can hide away from the truth as much as you want but as long as things stay the same at Hull FC, such as performances and ill feeling among the fans then the revenue brought in is certainly going to fall.

As has been stated many times, Sports Clubs aren't like traditional businesses, while is is comendable that the club is on a sound financial base, that is primarlily due to the paying customers (fans) buying passes, tickets, shirts etc. As with any business if the customers don't like the product they will shop elsewhere (not in terms of going to rovers, but giving up on the game) once that happens income drops, profit drops etc etc.

Given the last three years the customers/fans have been amazingly generous in proping the business/club up, however its apparent that goodwill is pretty well exhausted now and the board could be in for a rude awakening next year if things don't improve dramaticaly this year. (by which I mean more than scraping into the playoffs, but given we've beaten crusaders twice and no one else in the last 14-15 games I really can see that happening can you?)

For a sporting club running as a business it's only part of the plan.

On field success and trophies are just as important. Or they should be (mainly because they can directly link to financial success).

Seriously, that's all you have to come back with? Oh well, never mind about on field performances, don't even worry if we don't win another game we have invested in a young talented player. All is well.

I admire your optimisim, however, 2008/2009, (if we were to be honest 2010 wasn't all that good) and 2011 to date suggests to me that your belief is unfounded and we'll end up 10-14th if things don't change sharpish.

We've had 6 games and there's been only a fleeting possibility of that. You'll have to forgive those who don't share your optimism

By 'come good', he probably means getting in the play offs. Don't forget this is the fella that said getting 8th would be 'great' and anything more than that 'superb'. He really doesn't aim that high.
