If he felt he was not reckless then he should have plead not guilty.

An advised stupid plea of guilty was playing into the RFL's hands, how on earth does he/they think that they would go against the refs decision and reports, incredible stupidity on behalf of the club....seems we are no better organised and up to speed in the back offices that we thought we would be after the clearout.

I'd like to see the club question the way that the Red Card decision was made , ie , it wasn't Silverwood or his TJ's , and raise the whole issue of televised games where we have a video referee and consistency in general. Sam would almost certainly have stayed on the pitch had the game not been on Sky. He's effectively got a match and a quarter ban because of that. Had we gone on to lose the game the cost of us being on Sky would have been huge. The game selection by Sky , London , and the timing , 5.45 on a cold Sunday in February already must have cost the club a fair bit in revenue. The loss of 2 points on top of a short turn around to the next game and the RFL and Sky would have really screwed us over.
The problem is that if those questions were asked there'd be no answers forthcoming. There never are , it would just be "it evens itself out through the season". See apologists in chief Clark , Stevenson and Hemmings. The RFL make cock up after cock up , are in cahoots with "the big four" and answer to no one. There's no wonder the game is stuck where it is.

Possibly the biggest knob on the whole site and considering who he is up against that is some serious knobage.

If that was exactly the same shot on Houghton I personally would have said good shot and let's get on with it. Much like the vast majority did with the Welham hit on Reece pre-season. If it's going to be a red card every time someone gets a shoulder charge slightly wrong then they should just outlaw it and remove all doubt it. One thing that's for certain is that we will see similar and worse tackles this season that will go unpunished

That would depend on whether the contact with his head occurred as a result of his last minute change of direction or not.

The decision to plead guilty was moronic. I'd rather there had been a not guilty plea and more matches. He should never have been sent off, and by pleading guilty it's basically accepting that the RFL would have shat on us and saying that we'll just put up with this state of affairs.

I can pretty much put money on the fact that there will be no consistency with this decision. I can also put money on the fact that those who have said he should have been sent off will be saying something totally different when one of their players is sent off for the same thing.. if indeed they are even sent off

We won't be flavour of the month with the RFL. We're not Leeds for starters and look rubbish after the Gleeson thing. You have to pick your battles with an organisation as inept as them and maybe we decided this wasn't one worth losing points over.
