| The story with regard to Radders crossing the divide appears to be gathering momentum according to my source within the fold. Certainly no smoke without fire on this one. Also, I`m hearing that Mcrea has met a brick wall with talks about his own contract not being re-newed next September.

By next September AP will have been in charge for two years and Gentle will have been in place for the same time. As AP's knowledge of the game increases so his need for McRae will diminish. I certainly can't see McRae being around long term.

Might be better if you could link to the article on the FC website where the club states officially that we were after Prince (or Miller). That doesn't include the one that refers to 'rumours'. I can't find one - maybe you can and I'm missing something. If you can't then maybe we've never officially said we're after him. Unless McRae named Prince and Miller in his interview - I can't remember whether he did or not.

Mcrae didn`t mention either of them, James Clark mentioned their names as been mentioned as rumours when asking the question, in reply Macrae said they were in negotiations for a half but not once did he mention any names.

Paea knocks us back to stay at cats which is fair enough, but, bateman and amor preferred bradford and wakefield to us,mckinnon came and couldn't get away quick enough.! We have a good stadium and fan base, plenty of money and we offer a near 33 year old a 3 year contract and he dont appear to be biting our hand off.Why.??

Thought as much. Hull FC hasn't actually named Prince, Miller or McDonnell as targets. Chase was officially linked but that didn't fall through because it wasn't being done 'in secret'. I think people read the rumours thread on here that often they somehow think it's an official club mouthpiece

Radford apparently going to the dobbins as an assistant (Chester probably leaving).
I personally couldn't care less, I'm pretty sure we can find someone else to put the cones out and hold up the substitute numbers.

Paea was already settled in France and they upped his offer at the last minute.
Bateman is a local lad and wanted to play for his hometown team.
Amor again was settled and Wakefield always had first call on him.
Wade is a simple cas of an overseas player who couldn't settle, it happens.
Prince is THE man at GoldCoast, in an amazing part of the world as a club he loves and wants to be a 300 game NRL player.

We didn't exactly cover ourselves in glory in the way we treated some players (Head being a very good example) and some were seen as untouchable. Word gets around and maybe the club are seen as a not so good option despite the change in ownership

Well it was that Aussie news report I quoted which said it was the Hull website which broke the news. Here is the article and it names both Prince and Miller. It doesn't "officially" say we were after them but in view of the fact that it does not deny the "rumours" I suggest the implication is clear.
HULL IN THE HUNT FOR HIGH PROFILE HALF BACK
By Matt Holden | Wednesday, 17 October 2012
Hull FC remain in the hunt to sign a new high-profile half back for next season, according to the club’s director of rugby Shaun McRae in an exclusive interview with www.hullfc.com.
Speaking in a podcast which will be made available to fans later this week, McRae refused to distance himself from rumours linking the club with former Australian international Scott Prince and Wests Tigers playmaker Jacob Miller for next season.
The Black and Whites have already moved swiftly to bring sought-after Salford stand-off Daniel Holdsworth to the KC Stadium as one of several key signings for 2013 and McRae confirmed the club are eager to recruit another half back as part of ambitious plans to build a squad capable of challenging Super League’s best next year.
He said, “Peter (Gentle) firmly believes that one of the pieces in the jigsaw missing at the moment is another quality half back and we’re still very much in the hunt, with a couple of options available to us.
“They’re delicately poised at the moment and that’s the reason why we aren’t in a position to announce too much just yet, but I’m very confident that we will make another signing in that position.”
McRae continued, “The difficulty in getting an overseas player at the moment is probably at an all-time high simply because the money has increased dramatically in the NRL and clubs are reluctant to release their players.
“However, this club demands high standards and quality players, and we’d like to be able to reward our fans for their loyalty and their support over the years and into the future as well.”
Meanwhile, in an interview with FC.TV in which he speaks openly on a wide variety of topics, McRae confirmed he could join Hull FC coach Peter Gentle on a brief trip to Australia later this week to speak to a former NRL player about joining the Black and Whites from 2013.
The player in question, who McRae confirmed is not a half back, was previously on the club’s radar earlier this season and has now become available for Super League XVIII.
McRae said, “Peter knows him very well having worked with him in the past and I think there is a real opportunity to get another signing. This is separate to the half back issue and we’re very hopeful that in the next couple of weeks, we could be in a position to announce a couple of new signings.
“We’re talking about a position that we feel we need to strengthen in and add to the players who can play in those roles. We want to be stronger in certain positions and this player fits the bill for us in terms of what he would offer the team.”
