do we know roughly how much money is available on the cap for 2010, taking into account Long (decent wage) and Fitzy (mega wage) ??
i would like to see a quality FB, keep Tony for the bench since he ought to be the only utility player we need

I wouldn't disagree, but ATM there's not even a hint that we might be looking at one.

Not necessarily if we actually attempt using players in the positions they are meant to play!

If we release Cusack and Tony, we have Manu, Berrigan, Lauaki (assuming he is real and not some kind of Scooby Do character) Fitzgibbon and Moa on the quota next season.

Think the plan will be to develop a youngster into the role of backup 7 with a view to possibly being the long term answer when Long leaves.

Not much else you can do TBH. There's only so much cap and tying it up on a backup halfback isn't an efficient use of it.

Yes we have two. Both at a bit young at the moment, saying that I would rather give them a game than Thorman.

In case of injuries we do have washbrook who could cover stand off in the short term.

I don't disagree we could do with one, but if money was a major consideration we must sign a prop and either a fullback/SO as our priority and then after that whom else may we release? Wouldn't mind My Lyon or Mr Falou though if we had to......

Reading the various threads over the last few days it sounds like the club don't see RH being our FB and have put in an offer for one from the NRL.

Horne is a better SO than FB anyway IMO.

I agree, I really don't see the big attraction with Horne at Fb. He's solid but that's it.

Hunt would be great. Especially would be a good reason to listen to DDD's commentry. Wonder how many games he would last!

Whiting is a LF IMO. Can't think of any other SL team that would have Hall as a starting centre. That leaves Briscoe who will be fantastic but it would still be great to get someone in the Richie Barnett mould here, even on a year's deal, to really bring him on.

I reckon Briscoe will be Raynors replacement tbh.

Hunt's world class and has arguably the best step in RL, although I don't think he'd get a visa.

Briscoe for centre next to Calders next season, Horney and Long in the halves, Whiting/Washy at LF.

The next MUST is a big prop, then maybe a FB. Signing a big name centre isn't the best option, prop next then see whats on the cards.

The fact there is nobody better is what gets him in GB, not hat he is any good.

I don't exect him to be called up for England, there are younger and better players about now.
