How is this scoring points at FC? Webster applied for the job and was appointed on his merits, it has nothing to do with FC, he has the job on the promise he is staying on as mcnamaras assistant.

I'm sure there'll be decent applicants for the academy job, I know you'll find this hard to believe but not everything in the world is a pop at FC

What's actually happened is Netherton remains an assistant whilst Danny Wilson, academy director and formerly Hull FC head of youth, who's been around our club at least 6 years including a role as community representative, is taking over as head coach on an interim basis. For me it just ludicrous that there has been nothing put in place to say either club can not poach or tap up any of the Academy staff. As others have said they Academy is still in its infancy and has already shown that Hudgell and co have no respect for it.

Total waste of time for Hull FC and have yet to understand what true benefits merging with that shower will actually bring.

The annoying thing for me is that we were told when we merged the Acadamies that we would be able to pool our resources and spend double the money on an established coach. We did that initially with James Webster so fair play. However, now he has decided to leave we are now left with 2 blokes who were already on the pay roll in different capacities and neither actually with any coaching pedigree.

Just a small point, this merged academy is something that Hull FC wanted, are part of and I assume have an equal say in the running of. Surely any decision on staffing and management of the academy is passed off by some form of 'board' that both clubs have a say in.

So the statement about Hudgell and Peacocks lack of regard of youth development is matched by Hull FC who signed into (lead) this from the start. We all know that this whole academy exercise is purely a cost cutting one but to claim the moral high ground after pawning your granny's jewelry is a bitch rich

Pearson though is bankrolling a U23s set up for FC. Count the number of homegrown players on our respective books. I suspect claiming parity in terms of regard for youth I that context would be, as you would say "a bitch rich".

If the youth set up was so good then why throw it away and focus on the U23's? Surely the U23's is only as good as the youth set up feeding it and from this day forward you have sold that off. As you say our youth policy has been substandard but surely that makes the decision to merge an even more odd one from an FC point of view.

My point being that its all ok you slating the staff movements at the academy but if you wanted that much say then you should have continued to run your own. In effective you've sold the family home and then complained the new owners have built a conservatory.

You said Hudgell's disregard for youth was matched by Pearson's. I tend to disagree and numbers support that. As Hudgell said, it should be about the here and now. Anything else is selling the fans short.

I'm not slating the recent changes. Netherton was claimed to be stepping up by Peacock but that's been exposed as an untruth. Head coach is Danny Wilson (FC) with the likes of Freer, Rob Wilson and Steve Crooks involved. So more than parity in terms of our interests and adding U23s in on top, I'm pretty happy.

Hmm. Best not speak of it. Just do a BBC exclusive interview on "Top Line" coach the same day as a Crown Court appearance...
