cant argue with that, but dont u think that calders attitude actually comes with the fact if he chases back he can tackke the man!!


all im saying is, we could realease calders and save alot of moey on the cap with hall on the wing....and he would do a good job, as far as im concerned hall is the only man at fc who can do something "off the cuff"...

He might be staying, cue loads of backtracking that he's half decent

Hally has lots to work on to become a regular first choice SL player though.

I think it's his time to move on, maybe a season at Widnes before they get a licence?

Salford were after his services a couple of years back too and maybe he is lamenting the decision not to go there.

Cullen at Widnes obviously rates him as well.

2 options for me:
1. Agar backs Hall and plays him in a preferred position for a decent length of time. (never yet happened in his FC career)
2. Hall goes on loan or leaves permanently to develop his game where he'll be less exposed, top of NL1.

Likely to be a 3rd option that happens:
3. More of the same, Hall used by Agar on the right wing, right centre or at full back and then axed whenever the team plays poor.

Option 2, please.

Hope he goes somewhere he can play in a settled position and be given the time to develop and improve

Yup i agree 100%.......so that would effectively rule out BOTH Hull clubs

Hall has played 60+ games at this level now. He doesn't deliver consistently a standard to keep the shirt and relegate the likes of Yeaman, Briscoe or lately Turner to the bench or keep them out of the squad. Why should any player be given a free run in the first team when others might be training the house down and/or performing well on loan or in the U20s? It's up to players, when given the opportunity, to seize it with both hands and make it impossible to be dropped. See Whiting and Houghton.

Personally I doubt Hall will ever make it as a top centre, he has the ability but not sure he has the belief and the brain. If we retain him he will be useful cover who will do a good job and score the off cracking try, if he leaves then so be it, no harm done.

How often has Hall played at option 1, in his preferred postion for a sustained period of time?

How often has Whiting? And yet he performs consistently well.

However much you want to believe it, Hall is not a top SL centre. He'd be a great signing for a top 4 championship club, but he's been around long enough for anyone other than the most optimistic fan to realise that he's not cut out for this level of rugby. If we ever want to improve, we have to let [isome[/i players go and use their salaries for better players. We can't re-sign everyone and expect to magically become a better side. Out of the squad we currently have, Hall has to be one of the ones to make way.

I'm not saying he never does anything wrong, but his overall performances have, over the course of the season, been of a consistently high standard. Son.

Whiting and Hall are different characters. Not comparable one bit. Whiting can play 1-13 and will generally have a good game. Hall needs to be left centre or left wing and has never had a run there.

But Whiting hasn't had the preassure of knowing one mistake will cost him his place in the team for the next 5 games.

Hall could have being something great but we as a club ruined him, he did not ruin himself. All he needed was to bulk up a bit and sort out his defence and he had the potential to be a great centre, now I reckon he has lost the will to play the game.

Be intresting to see what happens when calderwood is ready......for me Calderwood should be behind Whiting and Hall for the team.

I'd bring him back in, ATEOTD Whiting/Hall have done decent jobs but Calderwood is an out and out winger and we miss his pace and enthusiasm.

That's the point entirely. Of course he's capable of doing good things, but he's not consistent enough to make it at this level.



Surely you don't believe this. He was promising as a youngster, but didn't progress as well as his early promise suggested he might. It happens. A lot.
