Who mentioned "hero worship"...Smith took us out of the doldrums and Jason Smith for the 1st 2 seasons was simply a class apart.Now to other things about them...Brian Smith is not the answer as he has a habit of buggering off after a couple of yrs,if we was to bin Gentle then it has to be Daniel Anderson and Jason Smith should have been released once his "injurys" got too much...i put injurys as you seem to know a lot more.

i still believe gentle needs time he has good ideas i do believe he will turn it round but how long will that take?? if the season pans out the way it is you could be seeing around 7000 passes or less next year and there's only so long Pearson will want to keep losing money and getting nothing back for it!! financially the clubs in a good place but as soon as he leaves were in deep sh*t

Sacking Gentle now would be the wrong decision, he deserves the season. However, I see little progression in the side and if that continues then AP may need to act. We still have absolutely zero attacking structure, lose the collision, fail to play the ball quickly, don't offer dummy runners, don't support enough, don't offload enough. These are all fundamental issues I would expect to see improvement in. This is the biggest disapointment for me.

That's why his injury excuse doesn't sit well with me. Of course we are missing some key players but we still do so many basic things wrong. We had no attacking structure against Rovers whatsoever. Yet we had trained all week with those player in those positions?

And why didn't we just constantly attack their right hand side? They looked flakey as hell and on the rare occassions we kicked to that side brown panicked

How did you feel we went last season ? Did we improve ? It think we did and that's why I think he deserves to have this season as well despite the current problems.

We had numbers on our left constantly but Houghton kept going right. Even when we tried we couldn't pass quickly or accurately enough. It was quite depressing the low level of skill on offer.
