What an absolute joke our sport is at times!

Unless their has been some new ruling since Baileys case in 2009 this is the clearest case of inconsistency I've ever seen! The words used to describe why Bailey had no case to answer apply word for word to the Moa tackle. It's a complete joke!!

The club, via twitter, are asking for our thoughts. I initially said he should appeal but if he has pleaded guilty, that would be a complete waste of time.

Disgusting but hardly surprising, the inconsistencies in decisions are just so frustrating

The guilty plea was a huge mistake and handed the panel the perfect excuse to dish out a ban. It also pretty much eliminates the opportunity for an appeal. WTF was someone thinking?

The guilty plea has gone against him IMO.

If he did plead guilty then the RFL will have been laughing about it. They now get to save face and without publicly backing the refs decision.

Would be very interested to know who advised Moa to plead guilty. Wonder if it had anything to do with the leniency shown Lee for copping to his charge?

Maybe Moa was taking responsibility that the hit made contact with his head, however then went on to explain that this was not done with intent etc, and hoped this would have been viewed in a more favorably light...Maybe had he not pleaded guilty the club thought the outcome would have been more severe...

One thing is certain in all this, we will see some-thing far worse this season and no bans will be dished out!!

there may have been some strong hints coming from red hall that if he didnt pleade guilty he would end up getting two games - who knows?

I look forward to other shoulder tackles being red cards and bans for the rest of the season then. They've set an early precedent with this so lets see if they back it up. Somehow I highly doubt it!

Whats happened here IMO is the club/Moa have hoped that pleading Guilty would lead to just SOS and a fine. Knowing at the back of there minds if they pleaded Not Guilty and the RFL found them guilty they would be looking at a much more lengthy ban. With the publicity this has created and interest around the RL public, pressure really was on here to see how the RFL would deal with it.

Its a gamble which has ultimately played into the hands of the RFL because as you say they don't now have to go public to defend the referees decision.

I still think it is a harsh Red and first contact was made at shoulder level. However if the RFL and refereee's punish anybody from this day forward with any form of high tackle regardless of the intent with the same outcome then I will complain no further. We all know deep down though if Bailey / Morley was to do this no further action would have being required.

I despair of this sport at times

The refereeing and the judiciary are rotten to the core and have been for as long as I can remember. This is just the latest example.

Having said that, pleading guilty was a mug's decision. Schoolboy error that assumed the disciplinary panel might have some basic integrity.

I watch the Leeds game on Friday night and Leeds Mr B did the same sort of tackle against the big Manly forward
but that was classed has a great hit

He pleady guilty of making the tackle as it wasn't his brother or his mother was him who made it but wanted it down grading so has not pleaded guilty as charged

sorry but by pleading guilty should not make an appeal unreasonable , pleading guilty to the fact eventually a fair tackle lead to contact with the head should not go against you .
