I loved The New Avengers as a kid and The Sweeney and The Professionals. I fell in love with Purdey when I was around 9 or 10 years old. But I must admit that Life on Mars and Gene Hunt was cracking modern day telly. Maybe I liked it so much because it was set in the 70's? I liked the episode when it started like an episode of Camberwick Green.

I think as a kid one of my all time favorite shows on the telly was 'Its a Knockout'. Stuart Hall would laugh at something silly but his laugh was infectious. The rubber suits that the competitors had to wear whilst trying to fill up a large plastic tube with coloured water and the slips and slides made great telly for a kid. I also loved Jim'll Fix It and was always envious of th ekids who'd had the courage to write in. I always remember the Scouts eating and drinking on the Loop the Loop ride.

One of the best films made 'Sling Blade' with Billy Bob Thornton, violent story. Challenge anyone not to use his 'Aaah huh' after watching it!
