| Quote ="Staffs FC"Fair play the point stands though in that had he wanted to he could have reversed that trend in half an hour by waving the fee for the JW pictures in the JW suite. Instead he tries to blame a fans' group for not telling him not to do something they didn't know he was going to do. If some Hull fans decide as a result to boycott the refreshment kiosks that will cost him more over a period.'"
That sums up how ridiculous this situation is. The loss in revenue from the ill feeling caused will dwarf any additional revenue sought from charging for a couple of pictures that you cant be sure people will pay for any way.

| I seem to remember Mr. Plumber of the previous regime renegotiatuing our lease after about 5 years, his reasoning was that it needed to be renegotiated after 10 years and his deal meant we paid a little more over a longer period. The deal put out at the time meant we paid £600.000 a year plus SMC took a share of all ticket sales after 7,500 and they kept any profit from beer and food.
When AP took over he stated publicly at the first fans forum that he wanted to renegotiate the deal. The present deal was described as a mill stone around our necks. His fall from grace at City by defending Nick Barmby and susequently with Messrs Allam probably put the kybosh on that.
IMHO AP probably said no to paying for memorabelia but didn't expect Allams to take JW's photos down.
Too many people are getting caught up in the Allams spin, this is what they have wanted for a year, pick a fight with the Council over the future of the Stadium and FC's tenancy, nothing else. We've been caught up in it.
Stand fast behind everything FC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Don't know where all this is going or what the initial intention was but the Allams have certainly cut them self off from some 30/40% of the users of the Stadium. I was going to go to see City on Saturday with my son and two Grandsons with the £40 family ticket offer. Not now. I will also refrain from any spend in the Catering facilities in the stadium going forward. Don't know if it will make any difference but it makes me feel better.
With regard to the sob story about the losses in the SMC and capital costs going forward all I will say is the Allams should have carried out a better Due Diligence before they acquired the company.

| I also will not be spending a penny on refreshment in the stadium from now on, lets face it wasn't the best anyway.
I hope a lot of others will do the same and see how long it is before they start complaining about that.

Very possibly. But one thing to consider - if the smc really is a pup, and given that he's indicated willing to give it away it either is or he is bluffing massively and rather stupidly, the nuclear option would be to wind it up or put it into administration.
I assume city's and hull's tenancy agreements are with the council and are guaranteed, but the council itself could be left holding the politically toxic baby.
Of course it could be argued that if it is portrayed in this light then suddenly selling would look MUCH more attractive to the council.
It all just depends on the reality - IF the stadium really is turning into a money pit, then something has to give somewhere along the line. This has maybe brought things to a head sooner, intentionally or otherwise, but it had to have been coming - IF.
All that Blairite stuff about how the private sector does risk so well - the thing is they can shut up shop and wander off, if it turns sour.

I find this whole "development" a little odd, I own property which I rent out, if ANY repairs are required then the managing agent informs me and I HAVE TO PAY, assuming I agree with the repairs.
If the Allams have been stupid enough to sign a management agreement that requires them to maintain the fabric of the building then that's their problem, likewise ths pitch, There's nothing wrong with it as far as I can see?
This is a diversionary tactic from them, the Council have no courage, otherwise they would just say "fair enough, we'll retender for an independent management company, thanks", the club haven't commented and it's starting to be a bit worrying in honesty.
A lot of fans have invested a lot of time and effort in this, but it seems that the SMC will remain, as will the status quo and we'll get charged for breaking wind in the KC eventually.

| I am getting a bit confused as to what revenue, if any, the Allams receive on catering. Can anybody confirm for definite?
Myself and 3 others usually park up early on match days, then go into the Kingston/Sterling Suite for a coffee and to keep warm until about ten minutes before kick off.
If the Allams make anything from our vast expenditure on four coffees, we will just go in for the free warm.
Might even take a flask and a bag of crisps just as a matter of principal.

You would think they would get a fee from EMC for the contract, plus a % of profits

I guess you're of an age that means you can recall Sir Humphrey Appleby scaring Jim Hacker off decisions by describing them as 'brave'?
If they re-tender there is the risk of the best new offer being worse than the current one. Now, as I had the opportunity to discuss at length on another thread a while back, risk is a relative thing and should only be used to scare if both it and the potential hazard are significant relative to the potential benefits. I'm not in any position to judge, but the signals thus far indicate that the Allams either want more (of their branding on and in it) or less (of the burden of the upkeep of it), and would accept an outcome in either direction. The one that has provoked Hull fans is different to the one that might be more worrying to the council.

I wonder if there are any photos of Nick Barmby in the KC !
Also, Has Michael Stipe,Elton John, and Luke Campbell received their demand for payment yet?
The Council should take up the SMC's offer, and appoint an independent company to run the stadium, or someone who has run it before.

Is it ok for the population of Hull to line the pockets of Hull FC via the council then? The money may or may not come direct from the council tax pot to pay certain running costs for the rugby league club but it seems a bit 'rich' that in the past couple of weeks the council in Hull has put an increase on the CT and not long after it's discovered they GIVE Hull Fc £140000 a year for empty seats.
Nothing short of an insult to the people of the city.

Concil pay nothing to line Hull FC's pockets. The SMC is a totally independent private company. The council make no losses on the stadium (they also make no profit).
