Leeds have quite an easy run in it would appear and we haven't managed to muster a decent performance against Leeds for a while unfortunately, could be a cracker of a game though if we're both level in points although out of interest out of 4th or 5th which position is most likely to yield a beatable opponent in the play-offs do we think?

Leeds too have shown they can trip up against the, so called, lesser clubs this year though.

Particularly agree with your point about intensity. This is a trait common throughout that middle cluster of teams (us, you, hudds, Bradford, Cas, Wakey). When the intensity level is high almost at borderline aggressive those teams look capable of a top four spot. i.e. Us last night, rovers last friday. The problems arise when that intensity dips, as it will for any side as no-one plays at 100% week in week out. As you say, those sides lack the quality to dig themselves out of tight situations in those games.

Also, as you point out above, does anyone else think that 4th could be a poisoned chalice. There is a possibility that our fixtures in September could read Leeds (h) / Wigan (a) / Leeds (h). That raises the scenario of having to face Leeds a week after a possible battering at Wigan. This was rovers problem 12 months ago when the defeat at Headingley left them with a depleted tank when facing Wigan at home the following week.

Either way, I think some of us could be getting a little ahead of ourselves here. If the last 6 days have taught us anything, then trying to predict how Fc will play from one week to the next is a somewhat complicated exercise. Just because we have played well one week doesn't automatically follow that it will continue the next week. Keeps life interesting anyways.

If (big IF) we are cemented for forth spot before the Leeds game, would you put your best team out, or rest as many first team players as possible?

Were booked for 5th at worst now.

We still need six points to guarantee that, although four will probably do.

Rest as many as possible if we're guaranteed 4th.

Our peformances and the other teams performances this season suggest to me that things wont be as straight forward as suggested by some.

We could win 5 from 5, we could win 1 from 5. Same for other teams. I do feel confident of overtaking Saints though with the injury problems they're encountering.

Now is the time of year when performance levels need to be peaking to hit the play offs in some decent form. That said if our final position is already determined by the last league game or 2 then the likes of Burnett, Lyne, Cunningham and Kent would all get a taste of Super League if it were down to me.

even though 5th woundt be a dissaster 4th would be alot better as it gives you the secound chance and if lose against top team then at leaste your at home and with our home record i feel confident against anyone at home. we need wins against quins, crusaders. and 1 or 2 wins from wigan,wire and leeds

good point, saints could end up 5th with us and leeds overtaking them, also i think a warrington/ leeds cup final could be very benificial to hull with us at wire the week before and at home to leeds the week after

Looking at them fixtures i think Leeds will get 4th with you Hudds and KR fighting for 5th and 6th.

Think we need win 2 games to get 5th.

As Hudds and Rovers will lose at least one game (Wigan) before the end of the season. New coach for Bradford and must win game to get into the playoffs, Bradford could beat Rovers next week, also Cas the week after will be tricky.

Think Leeds will get 4th as you have said, really we need to win all our home games plus Quins away to get 4th, which I cant see happening.

Would love to play Leeds in the last game to get 4th, will be great game.
