The substitute decision that baffles me is the use of Howarth. Leaving aside how good he is (or isn't) for a moment what are they really expecting from someone being held back to the last quarter? When it was obvious Bowden wasn't going to take any further part in the game surely adjustments were needed in the planned use of the bench to distribute the workload better, or is our coach incapable of acting on the fly when the situation changes? As it was it took big efforts from Paea and Watts in particular to cover up this odd decision and prevent a total fiasco, not that it wasn't close to one. Still the use of Howarth on the bench at the moment is the most mystifying since the time of Will Sharp's spell there.

It doesn't, it was our CEO who confirmed it to our Supporters Association at a meeting with the club's board. Hull had agreed to the game but pulled out when it was announced we were playing each other in the 1st game.

I know time moves slowly in Huddersfield but declining a friendly two months in advance is hardly the 11th hour.

we are saying that we had a far from perfect pre season and hull played a part in this , thus you caught us cold on game 1 but now we have got into our stride its nice you got to see the true Giants.. not the one you beat and then thought you would go on to win the league

dont forget every other club had already arrange games by then so its not so easy just to arrange another game.

sure we will learn for next pre season after the shambles we had this time round. Albeit not all the clubs fault.

If that was the true giants don't get too excited for the rest of the season then.
