Carvell turned out to be a mistake.

Talanoa is an OK squad player.

Rankin is a decent player with the potential to be a good one.

It's not stellar recruitment but then we seem to have a large chunk of cap tied up in previous signings.

The performance of the squad this season can hardly be attributed to the 4 signings you listed. Most of the squad was recruited or retained by PG and McRae.

Critism has been far and wide regards both the owner and coach on this forum. Critism can be healthy but constant nagging, bile and negativity will do us, the fans and the club, little good whatsoever. No one in their right mind can be happy with what has happened to us this season. Your's and Standee's viewpoint will make little difference. Take a tip from Monty Python

Dixon would be a good signing. Young, British and pace to burn. Much prefer him on the wing for Talanoa.

But I thought he was signing for Rovers? Suppose with the two reserve grade Aussies they won't need him.

Our club doesn't have the best record of fitness checking so it'd make me nervous if this is true. A serious knee injury like that could ruin him and even if it doesn't it could be two years before he regains his pace. Adrian Peterson recovered from a similar injury and came back to star for Minnesota after 263 days but he's some kind of godlike super human with access to the best healthcare mega-money can buy.

Saw an e mail before season even began from a pal n someone close he was unhappy with the fact he had 350k tied up in mcdonnal miller arundell n pitts.

Shannon was injured but even if fit he didnt represent value over shaul (n im a shannon fan)
Miller nowhere else but Hull fc gets the deal hes got especially when weighed up with level he was at.

In principle u could say these players being moved on has allowed us to get 2halves n an other. Come at a cost this season but next yr n beyond it'll be worth it.
Gentle n bomber put us in a corner cap wise n initially at least it looks like lee n motu aint doing so bad at getting us on the right track ahead of schedule

I really worry about people believing excuses.

If true, it goes a long way in explaining why Bomber and PG were shipped out as rapidly as they were and why the players you mentioned have gone or loaned out.

I reckon that's £100k short.

That still doesn't answer why Radford with virtually the same squad as Gentle takes the team and some players backwards,yet a good coach was sacked after taking the club to a Wembley final and 6th place finish in the league.
Add to that the Radford signings of Colbon ( where is he?) and Tuson were hardly good business.
Whether this season is treated as transitional or not a good coach is able to get the best out of players and mould a competitive team from what he has available a la Castleford but this is where Radford has clearly failed.
