I've been to the gold coast, didn't remind me much of withernsea or hornsea TBH |

Lots of Hull fans want Miller over Prince yet they will have never even seen him play, bizarre.
Risks attached to both players.
Prince is past his very best but still a quality player with the right experience to boss a side and is proven. Age a concern though.
Miller is young and unproven but, very highly rated. Could he boss a side in SL, would he settle and if he proved a huge success would NRL clubs tempt him back?
As long as we get one I will be happy.
McDonnell no shock at all.

It now looks very much to me like Prince is just "playing us" like many top Aussies have played SL clubs many times before.
Maybe Gentle's punt on Miller is our best option now? Let's face it though, it will probably be two seasons for him to put himself in the shop window for a decent nrl deal. That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing though because it would give us plenty of time to look ahead (as long as Miller turns out to be as good as Gentle thinks he can be)

We will never have a long term solution to our number 7 spot until we develop our own. It seems with the halfback school idea that Pearson, Gentle & McRae are doing everything in their power to do just that. Until such time one comes through we'll go through this crap every couple of years, unfortunately.

I've not seen miller play but an Aussie schools half, junior kangaroo half and then named in the Toyota cup dream team after he'd starred for Wests would suggest he's no mug.
Prince and Miller would probably give 3 years regardless but you'd have more hope keeping Miller if he settles.
The plus for Prince imo would be his high profile within the game, influence on our juniors and season passes. However with Prince's meeting with Cartwright ending with everybody no wiser I'm just anxious to get one sorted. |

If we end up missing out on both Prince and Miller how much will it be due the fact that it has all been conducted so publicly?
Sure Miller's name has been bandied around for weeks now but the first I heard about Prince was in the article on the Hull FC website on 17 October when McRae "refused to distance" the club from the rumours. Next thing we hear McRae and Gentle are flying to Oz.
I don't know who has put it in the public domain i.e. Titans to put pressure on Prince to leave, Prince because he wants to put pressure on the Titans for a better deal or to let other NRL clubs he is available or Hull FC to sell season passes.
What I do know is that in the past our best business has been conducted in private and we have not known about it until its announced.
I really don't know how this is going to pan out.

If I'm not mistaken the Prince story was broken in the Aussie press. We then had to comment on it although we never confirmed who it was we were going after. It was the HDM (as usual) which had it wrong as being 'nailed on'. |
