If he was a class as you claim it would be no problem for him. I watched an 18 yr number 6 in a trial game last week playing with players he had never played with before, now he was class and ran the show, that is my definition of class, a player who knows his role and can adapt that role in most situations.

I have not said I do not think Chase is good, I think he is good, however I do not think he is class and as good as some on here are making out, he was indeed last season MOS but I doubt he would be anywhere near it this year imo.

There's a very good case to be made that Chase does indeed know the role he is best suited to and most capable of, and that it is actually Steve McNamara who is the one who is missing this.

and as a result lets just buy dobbo who hasnt played in anything worthy of note, for any team worthy of note or done pretty much anything worthy of note but is a very good half!!!

Rangi chase is alongside tompkins probably the only 2 players in SL whom really have the X factor
Dobbo is a very good half who would not let us down and has been outstanding in a very average KR side similar to Holdsworth at Salford

Your probably right tbh, Chase appears to have struggled to adapt his game to suit, maybe you are right and Gentle wants unstructured, one thing is for sure it will be a gamble but if it works it will be entertaining.

your not wrong, i think he will eventually give us a free running team whom promote the ball even in their own end!!! hence why he wants young, slimmer more mobile forwards who can bang for fun but are not akin to simply carting the ball up and dying with it

Dobbo aint coming we would have signed him when he was offered earlier in the season I don't think Gentle rates him and anyway the way things are over at the Allam 'show us ya money' Stadium Hudge would lose too much face if he sold him. Gentle certainly rates chase because he told me he scared him to death everytime he got the ball on Saturday I think thats why they are really trrying with this one. Hope we get chase but starting to wonder now think its becoming a real long shot myself!!

As if any coach, even all the way down to pub league level, would purposely send a team out 'unstructured' in attack.

Every coach has set plays and will identify weaknesses in their opposition & look to exploit it. This is a structure, a gameplan, some of which will be tailored to their opponents that week and some which will be generic moves from Gentle's play book.

There are times of course that a player will see something else on, or they may be required to do something off the cuff in a broken field. That's as far as it goes though, none of this 'unstructured' nonsense.

Rangi Chase is a class player and I can't understand why anyone would want Dobson over him. Chase is a box of tricks and produces plays that other halfbacks can't both with his passing and running game. His kicking game isn't brilliant but alongside Holdsworth it wouldn't matter too much.

With the side we are putting together Chase would bring a genuine chance of silverware.

I really hope we get him but i'm not confident.

Chase is brilliant and anyone who claims he isn't knows the square root of feck all about the game. He is virtually unplayable at times and opposition teams are terrified of him. There were times on Saturday when we couldn't lay a finger on him

Chase is a fantastic player.He showed that on Saturday.
Sadly I don't think his skills will be on show for us next season.

Only an opinion but a player with speed and skill should be able to close a player down .That what Hull did on Saturday with Chase.A good coach (Gentle)would tell his players to do and they did that. I will respect other posters opinion if they think players are good or class.We all see different things in life.If we miss out on Chase then that hard luck.The Cub have done everything to get him.Somebody will fill the gap and I for one will back the person.

In terms of Chase it appears to me that;

1. The visa is now sorted
2. Terms has been agreed with Chase personally
3. Cas have since moved the goal posts

Generally, 1 was seen as the main issue with the transfer, so it is understandable that this would cause people to believe the transfer was sorted

Not one to jump into any-ones fight but this is very condesending and obviously to a woman - what I have read in your post you are not overly full of knowledge on the game yourself.

I wouldnt say it was that bad, and definitely hadn't brought sex into it.
