He was for New Zealand, they even played Leuluai at 9 to accomodate him. He dictates play and kicks pretty well so he'll do the job we need.

surly you can't be happy with a utility player as a half back, we need an out and out half back and imo hull should be busting a gut to get orford, kimmorley or finch at whatever cost blank cheque if need be.
If miracles happened it would be good to see hull just offer some money for a decent half back instead of pussy footing about taking the left overs and panic buying.

Agreed, my point was not specifically about the player more about the clubs recruitment policy in general and losing out to other clubs, Myler is overhyped but Hull were interested in him last year and I bet they still would be now but would be unwilling to pay a transfer fee (im assuming hes contracted for 2010) were other clubs will be willing to do so.

And that is what really p/sses me off about our club at times.

And as DDD would say quite rightly so, the only time we should even contemplate paying a fee for a player is when they are proven quality.

We always do the easy potion, ie player coach out of contract no fee, not the best man or best player for tha t postion

TBH thought Fein was fantastic in the World Cup.

We could, in theory, do better but we could do a lot worse.

He is a leader and a fighter, and has a fantastic kicking game so even if he isn't as good as Orford he would still be a massive upgrade on our current situation.

Also worth bearing in mind he is a lot younger than Orford and Kimmorley.

Isn't that what people where saying when we signed thorman at begining of season, leader on field, direct us around the field, good kicking game look where that has got us at the minute.
Clueless on the field, the only time we look dangerous and score tries is when we throw the ball about and have runners and 2nd phase options but for some bizzarre reason we decide to play like where in the last 2 mins of a game with a 6 point lead for 80 minutes, we need a busy scrum half who can unlock defences.

On the Warriors forum, they are pretty peed off at loosing Fien, and keeping Jones.

Point taken but maybe Thorman doesn't possess the qualities that people originally claimed.

Also the short kicking game is probably the number one avenue to unlocking defences and Fein was the best in the World Cup in that respect.
