You won't get organisation skills from Chase. He's an off-the-cuff type of player with individual skill. He also lacks a long kicking game but makes up for these shortcomings with breathtaking passing sometimes bordering on the sublime and is also extremely creative.

Our organisation and structure comes from Seymour, where he's lacking is creativity and spark, which is where Chase fits in.

| There was a rumour last year that because he had some sort of caution/conviction on his record Down Under, that this might affect his ability to renew his visa, which would also affect his ability to change clubs, as a new club specific visa/work permit would be required.
I suspect if this ever was an issue, it has been overtaken by his family status. So hopefully you wont have too much of a problem, assuming that the HDM has got its stories correct!

| The problem with Rangi Chase's visa!
When he went back for the court case, At the start of last season, He got ordered to do community service and avoided a jail sentence and was granted a visa due to his fantastic work in the community in Cas. It was apparently stated his visa only allowed him to play for Cas.
I said at the time the club brushed the news about his suspension under the carpet, It was to avoid Visa complications to sell him.
He needs to be able to get the same Visa, For a new club, Which will not be easy at all. But, If he sorts it. The deal is done

After reading that, it seems very unlikely that we'll see chase on the squad this season.
How long do you think this could take? the dead-line is Friday is it not?

Castleford is quite close to Hull - he would still be able to continue with that good work. We have people in Hull who could benefit from his insight too.

| Still not 100% confident and hope the club get him signed ASAP. If the HDM is correct and we have him for a cut price fee them other clubs might join us in trying to sign him, I'm sure Wigan will be interested and would fear losing him to them

| There is no way the current broad won't have looked into his Visa situation before getting this far with the deal, the old board would have signed him and worried about it later, this board has are much more professional.

The vast majority of these visas include the name of the company they are working for and restrict them to that organisation. This is really more for monitoring purposes rather than restrict people's abilities to move jobs within the same industry. Seen it lots of times in the construction industry, and changing it to a new organisation is usually a simple process of writing a letter and occasionally a phone call. That's even with minor convictions as the process is not suppose to be about enforcing criminal law, but immigration laws.
Entirely different story if he was playing in Australia and moving to the UK, i.e. a new UK visa. But in this situation I can't see any reason why Chase would have any significant problems.

I would have thought the club would be able to stipulate that as part of any deal he does work with the Community team we have at the club too so he is still doing good work in a new community.
How the Authorities view it is another matter I guess but I'm hopeful though not too expectant.

Brent Webb's visa only allows him to work for Leeds Rhinos. Brett Seymour's only allows him to work for Hull FC. Its the way the system operates and has nowt to do with his conviction. The fact that the conviction has been declared previously and the visa approved means that it is "OK" in the view of the UKBA.
Quote He needs to be able to get the same Visa, For a new club, Which will not be easy at all. But, If he sorts it. The deal is done'"
It should be a piece of the proverbial. If the conviction has been declared and accepted, then he can transfer no problem and it should not have any effect at all. What makes you think it won't be easy?

If he's signed, or about to, it's a fairly straightforward transfer process. He just needs the visa changed to a new one (the current one will only allow him to work for Cas) linked to FC. The club are pushing it to get it done though - postal applications are taking 6-8 weeks. If only someone could try to fit him in at the UKBA in Sheffield this week....

Even if he's in a de facto relationship?

See my post further down. If he's using the relationship for his visa then the work permit issue doesn't come into it

Because the RFL don't make the rules regarding who is or isn't a UK citizen.
Not sure why this is so difficult to grasp TBH. Many sports have allowed non-citizens to play at international level based on either a heritage or residency rule. Governments tend to be a bit pickier.
