i think a lot of people have had a reality check after "bel13ve" and all the hype around the average squad of players we have and we need to make major changes to the squad yet again!!!! we will get nowhere near the top 6 in the next few years we are going backwards in terms of quality on the pitch but if we make changes we are going to have to except another 2 or 3 years of transition and a lot more losses £££ for Mr Pearson who will eventually get fed up

I would say (being cynical) that PGs pre match talk was something along the lines of don't worry chaps in these conditions I will be pleased with a draw. After 65 mins he realised that defeat would leave him in the brown stuff with AP.

what im saying is next year we will see alot of major changes to the 17 the likes of tickle briscoe omeley seymour galea and any other player we have ooc or were getting rid of will need replacing with quality to make us better then we are!!
yes the younger lads will be in 17 more next year green bowden kent etc
but they are still young lads and not ready to replace the players leaving yet IMO
we need a class 7 thats the 1st thing we need
a top centre
a massive prop and maybe another prop aswel
and we will need a couple more squad players to provide good cover for injuries
that for me is major squad changes which will only mean they take time to gel again and its another transitional period

In his recent interview Pearson said there wouldn't be major changes to the squad next year.

There doesn't need to be major changes. Half back with Seymour's money (presuming he will be released), prop to replace ogre, 2nd row to replace Tickle/Galea. 3-4 signings max. We NEED consistency, which is why Gentle and AP have been giving longer contracts than we previously have been.

i know mate i just hope they get recruitment right for next season we need to fill a few gaps so they will have to be at least 4 new signings and by major i mean the quality we pick needs to be top 4 not peoples cast offs

Pearson has said a number of things that haven't quite worked out as he planned. His word isn't quite as gospel as some would BEL13VE!

I suppose the only comfort is that he made some mistakes early on at City (sacking Brian Little, spending loads of money on average players and hiring and firing Jan Molby) but then found the winning formula that got them 2 promotions. We can only wait and see if he can repeat that in RL.

I said it with a degree of tongue in cheekness but Christ PGs comments are IMHO defeatist. It's rugby in England but all he worried about was the conditions. If he doesn't adjust that attitude over the coming month we are screwed. There is to be no let up in this weather any time soon.

I've highlighted the bit you let out that totally changes the tone of the quote. It's clear that what he's talking about is the state of the pitch - i.e. waterlogged and barely fit to play on - rather than the weather. It's also clear that he'd have taken a point because on a pitch like that you could easily play well and still lose. It turns games into a bit of a lottery.

It was a throwaway line in an interview and it speaks volumes about how much drama queenage is going on right now that it was ever deemed worthy of a comment, let alone offered up as 'proof' of our lack of ambition.

As for drama queenage. Well it's now getting to the stage were talk is very cheap. I personally have started to have a gut full. The official line was "injury hit Hull..." Now when have we heard that before? We carry on at times as if we are the only ones with injuries. We also had quotes before the season about our strength across the park and in depth. Well to quote you FFS we have four injured and its a crisis and we have little depth.

Now if me and a good few others have started to act like drama queens I strongly feel we have good reason. The club has failed to sell the targeted number of season passes and will have to review their targets down as things stand as it's not getting any better. Some who aren't such drama queens IMO need a dose of reality. Ifs buts and maybes don't wash on the park. Actions speak louder than words and right now those decisive actions are missing.
