It's not exactly a squad of 17 players though, you do the young players an injustice.

The lack of depth and quality in the backs and halves for a club with our so called ambitions is questionable at best. Well this is the squad that Agar has manufactured so no excuses this time.

My guess is that Houghton was 20 and Berrigan would have being 9, obviousley now Berrigan has gone Houghton has moved to nine and the club are trying to put some sort of buzz around the 20 shirt.

Maybe they're retiring the number after Houghtons very impressive spell for all of 8 weeks that, apparently, merited an end of year award.

Bit odd that Leeds have done exactly the same thing, why not just name them 1-28 then if we sign someone else they become 29.

Well no....That means we have a fit and raring to go squad of 24 players to pick from.... The young players aren't on full time contracts just to sit there and look pretty.

Think that fitz should be 10, Manu 11 and Westerman 13! But as already mentioned somewhere squad numbers don't mean as much as they used to, we'll have to see how we lone up at the millenium stadium

After listening to Agar on Blunderside and reading Wilf's comments about Tansey it looks to me like the intention was to have been Whiting at 1 , Berrigan 3 and Tansey probably 20 to be used as hooker/half cover. Not saying they weren't still intending to bring in extra players but I think the vacant 20 shirt is originally as a result of this rather than deciding to keep it free for Sammut/Chase or whoever.

Also listening to Agar, it looks like he see Westerman as a loose forward.



I thought that because Westrerman got the number 11 shirt he had to play there.
