Houghtons game has developed IMO. His distribution is a lot sharper this year. Last year his game was almost solely based on dummy half scooting this year it is not.

I would have no problem having Danny as first choice hooker if Berro was not available.

I'd say his distribution has sharpened in the last 4 or 5 games I agree but his speed and accuracy of the pass is still below standard IMO (So is Berrigans currently as well to be fair). He also doesn't engage the square markes before giving the pass enough and doesn't make the most of the little half breaks he makes (though some of that is due to a lack of support).

That would possibly have something to do with the fact he ain't a full-back.

What's that got to do with him bottling it? Beacause he 'ain't a full back' he's entitled to make a half hearted attempt to catch a ball?

Some say bottle it, some say misjudged it. I know which side of the argument i'm on.

He did exactly the same thing the last time I saw him play in the u21's. However he was on that occasion playing in the centre, he made a weak attempt to deal with a high kick which resulted in the opposition scoring. He seems to make the same basic errors over and over again.

He seemed to judge them perfectly, he just didn't have the nerve to keep his eye on the ball. But as you say, we'll agree to disagree on this one.

I have reservations about Agar, I always have done but he will be here next season and will have his players here. He has talked about making big changes to personel and to the way we play so I will continue to reserve judgment until then. He has areas he needs to work on and I am sure he would admit that.

Either way I would still not bring Cullen anywhere near the club.

Good move for both Hall and the club, he'll come back a better and hopefully more confident player.

Yes Agar could have handled things better but so could Hall. You say people are picking on Hall, well you are doing the same thing with Agar. It's not cut and dried either way, they both have to take responsibility.

Spot on Paul. I'm not picking on Hall but at the same time im not making excuses for him either. I'd love to see him come back from Widnes full of confidence and having toughened up a bit mentally as well as physically. He could still have a big future at Hull.

I like Hall. A lot. I've frequently defended him on here and criticised the way Agar has dealt with him. But he does have to shoulder some of the responsibility himself. He seems to be quite fragile mentally and if that is the case then it could stop his career before it begins. Hopefully he realises this and can work on it, because if he can address some of his shortcomings without sacrificing his attacking flair then he could become one hell of a player.

Moving to Widnes on loan could actually be a big help for him. He'll be playing in a much higher grade of competition without the pressure of SL, and a change of surroundings/coach might do him some good as well. Hopefully he'll look at this as an opportunity to kick on and show Agar what he's missing.

Good move for Craig and he will be under a coaching regime that will compliment his style. Cullen is no mug and if i were a gambling man i would say the likleyhood is Craig will have played his last game for Hull.

And additionally, Hall has been dropped in favour of playing other players out of position, not like for like.

Hall was playing out of position though .... and not as good as an out of position Richard Horne.

I don't just mean this season. Last season and going into this he was missing out for a backrower.

My point is that it isn't the case that anyone not playing well misses out if there's another player in their position available. There have been many in poor form over the last 2 years who consistently get in the 17 ahead of others, whereas there has actually been a reshuffle made to keep him out of the team at times.

It's right to say he hasn't shown the desired level of improvement, I just think that the fact he's been in and out of a team that don't play to his strengths and have struggled, plus being singled out for poor performances, could be as much factors as his attitude. If he'd been brought through at Saints it's likely he'd be a regular first choice by now IMO.

I can see that there's plenty of opinions regards wether Mr HALL should be in or out of your team , so dont want to interupt that , but on the limited times I've seen him on sky he looks a fast strike type if he gets the ball in space , is this a fair assumption and have we got a player who will add a threat to our attack .

Your sure do. Defending shouldn't be as difficult in the national league so he should shine above anything you have at the moment

Hall is a quality centre who will be less exposed in the lower leagues. Do us a big favour and help him get back to his best.
