Interesting that this time last year most people on here wanted either Bluey or Brian McDermott as our new coach

I do like McClennan and think it would be unfair for either him or McDermott to go - their injuries are as massive as ours were last season. Agar rightly was given more time to prove himself with a fully fit squad.

What now, though?

Most of us are not privvy to the insider going on of TEAM FC, most of us do however have watched FC for a number of years. We have seen them through good and bad, we have supported them throught those times and we can clearly see things are not right. Many fans remember last season and the way it ended up, the signs are there now we are heading in the same direction. A loss at KR and then the Wire on Monday will invoke a crowd reaction at that game and from there on in he is on borrowed time. I don't care if he is nice bloke or not he is there to coach FC and give the teams the tools to do the job and he is clearly failing. I would employ the biggest nastiest coach in the league as long as he gets results. I am constantly hearing " he is a nice bloke " or " so and so says he is a good coach", I like many others can see clearly the preparations have been all wrong.

No doubt the performance last night will be blamed on ref, injuries or players not doing as instructed as usual, trouble is some of us a getting a little tired of the same guff. It wears thin after a while and no amount of excuses or spin will cover up the shortcomings of TEAM FC, the team spirit in the team is not as it appears or what they tell us it is either. The team is split into factions and the blame for that lies with one person, sod the Tongan mafia its the Westie mafia that rule.

The balance of the team is all wrong and we can and will suffer for that our backs are far to slow and or inexperienced. Teams will now target our backs and not be drawn into a forward battle and even as I write this Justin will be working out his battle plan to use his better backs against ours. We are getting that predictable and close to the line we incapable of scoring unless it comes off a kick.

Give Agar more time by all means, but be prepared to suffer as a result.

I'm getting a bad feeling about the season ahead. No sign of a new winger and the team spirit seems to be descending into apathy just like the last two years. What does go on behind our closed doors?

The sad thing is at the beginning of the season I ,along no doubt with others, was feeling very confident.Unfortuanatly,this is starting to evaporate now.I stated a while ago that if Agar could do nothing with this squad he has no hope.
I am now starting to sweat a little over Good Friday.

But what happens if Wigan don't get that far in the play offs this year? Is it failure? Bring back Nobby? Will the Wigan fans be happy with the league leaders shield but not getting to Old Trafford?

Cast your minds back a few months, i got fed up of Long, Fitz and any other new face that came to the club saying "after speaking with Rich Agar, what a good coach he is, thats why ive come to a big club like Hull FC"
It got embarrassing hearing the same spin all the time when, after watching 2 years of dross under his regime, even the normal man on the street thought the opposite.

Signing was nothing to do with the money then?

It's always obvious that quotes attributed to new signings in press releases (at any club) come from the club rather than the player.

Then why do they quote it? That must cheese the player off straight away before he even plays or do they have the "print what you fookin like, that contracts amazin" attitude.

IMO I never have thought agarright man for the job. He's a fool without a clue!!! Reminds me of " the fonzy " in the waterboy when things aren't going right.. get shot of now and stop the fans living with the embarrassment of this fool.. we deserve better!!

This side we have has had some good wins but has been inconsistant which is the problem and that is down to the coach's motivation of the skillful squad he has at his disposal,
What do you think will happen if Agar goes?
Will the job be advertised nationally and also in New Zealand and Australia with all C.Vs carefully fine tooth combed to get the best man available in on a top wage?
We all know the answer to that one from the last ten years past experience.

But the responsibility for what? For being 5th in the table having beaten 2 of the clubs above us (one of which is only on points difference) that everyone is raving about how good they are? It all seems a bit premature to me. If we beat Warrington we will have beaten another of the top clubs and if we beat Rovers we will have beaten a top-four finisher of last year. The general consensus seemed to be (in the close season) that people would be happy to finish 6th, 7th or 8th and that we were deluding oursleves if we thought we would finish higher. Also a ten-game threshold seemed to be a favoured cut-off point (Easter). Well we're higher at the moment and in just over a week's time we will have played ten games. Let's wait until after Easter at least before we call for his head and, if we have lost those two matches, then let's not make a knee-jerk reaction where we're left promoting Moore just because he's on hand to come in as a caretaker manager. I'm not saying Moore isn't capable - he might well be the man for the job like the other two Aussie coaches that everyone is raving about - but I would like the club to consider the options more closely.

I've never been a fan of sacking a coach mid-season. Once you make a decision on a head coach you should stick with it, unless something like relegation is looming. As you quite rightly point out we should wait until after the easter period to assess where we are.

We have had some very good results this season as well as the poor ones so its difficult to say if Agar should go or not based on the results so far especially when you consider the spine of the team is still relatively new. I never wanted Agar in the first place and he hasn't done anything in his time to change my mind but we dont know anything new now that we didn't know before. I said at the start of the season that I hoped we were sounding out potential replacements for next season when his contract expires and I still hope that is the case. I'd be dissapointed if we promote Moore to head coach which is exactly what will happen if Agar is sacked mid season.

As for this season, I still think we have the ability to get up for the big games, particularly at home. The cup therefore represents our best chance of silverware this season if we can get past an injury ravaged Leeds and get a favourable draw.

Personally id sack Agar, put Moore in charge, as thats what he's here for and not to be an assistant, and then give him till the end of the season to see what he can do.

I kinda think Agar brought that on himself by his arrogant claim that he doesnt do any video work on the opposition. This means we play to the same structures week in week out and is the reason why we are yet again getting found out as a offensive unit.

If Agar has any sense he would watch the Catalans v HKR game and see how Rovers square markers work with the 2nd marker shooting off and the 1st marker holding his place which is the opposite to how sides normally work. This is something Kevin Walters must have saw on tape and went at again and again with great sucess.

How about we get rid of a team that cant motivate themselves.
