So 'BOTH' teams feilded full strength sides today, barring said absentees, you saw our strength in depth and we saw yours, i know which i'd rather have, plus we also had 1 acadamy player in, which after watching your acadamy on friday night shows that you have absoloutly nothing coming through and not one of them would have been good enough to be ball boy today.

You have to have sense in the first place to be bored... and it seems yours has done a runner

Vella's had it mate, heard from 5 different rovers players he won't play much as his body is failing. Chev walker hasn't been the same since he left League the first time. Fox i'll give you, very good player on his day.

=#FF0000Looked class at times linking in and it's obvious he and Longy will get a better and better understanding with time.

=#FF0000Should have done better for their first try although some credit must go to the kick quality. Played well other than that and probably couldn't believe how much ball was getting to his wing.

=#FF0000What can I say ? Thought he was outstanding. Not just with ball in hand but his direction of play and organisation during play and even when the ball was dead directing his team. Created 2 clear openings which should have lead to tries in the first half. Best of all he wants the ball first receiver and we are at last no longer rigidly fixed to one half on the left and one on the right. Keep this guy fit and we'll do well. When I turned Humberside on in the car Richardson was saying he was 'non-existent' in the 2nd half. I must have dreamt his involvement in both Hull's second half tries.

=#FF0000A workhorse but on the day our least effective prop.
Houghton
=#FF0000Not his best. A couple of good scoots but took the wrong options too often. Berro wont be worried about getting his place on this performance.
Radford
=#FF0000At last played where he should be. Looked to be playing for his place and did well.

=#FF0000Big defensive hits and very physical. Could be a bit of a target by the quicker men in the opposition when defending. Would like to see him get up a bit more pace when taking it in but make no mistake the opposition know he's there.

=#FF0000Got a slight knock but looked exactly what he is - a seasoned pro with a big presence on the pitch. Real shame we couldn't back up his break off Longy's peach of a ball.

In general a good run out. Plenty to work on and some rust to shake off but we now have an x factor in attack in Long and also Tansey combining well. Add Berro in there and there are some really good signs. Need to work on that concentration and intensity for the whole 80. We have a whole host of new options across the field for different combinations and competition for places. Much to do still but signs are good.

Great turn out from Rovers fans for which they deserve credit. For them I thought Newton and Dobson were good. Was surprised at the amount of lying on they did maybe that was down to rustiness. They were on the backfoot for around 60-70% of the game which may have been another reason.

Great to be back basically. Congrats to Horney on a good day for him.

i would have to agree with you there, not the players they used to be, that is why they need to be moved on so new players can fit in, in the mean time they have to and will do a job for hkr.

Agree particularly on Long. Looks like he's taken it upon himself to control the whole on-pitch operation. The kicking game we've been missing.

Posted lots already on the positives, but was a bit disappointed with Tickle, Cusack and Houghton today, and think Lauaki looked a bit weak defensively in parts.

Also agree about Newton for them. A real handful and looks to have started where he finished last season. He'll be a thorn in many teams' sides this season.

Fc for me definatly should of won, thing i've gotta say is; Fc played their strongest team for nearly the full 80 (Didn't see many fringe players exept for Reece lynn who took one hell of a hit). People going on about Rovers having only 4 players missing, thats true but rovers played only there best team for very limited periods. Last 20 mins rovers had a very weak 13, a couple of examples would be; Newton came on for about only 10-15 mins, Galea 40, Cooke 40, Webster 40 and so on.

Certainly FCs forward pack is a big one, only Huuds will compete on size i reckon. Long looked good, he just didn't have Roby or Price in support when he broke the line to off-load, instead he had Tickle who knocked on, only a minor problem that long could have? Turner looked decent aswell.

Think thats a pretty fair assesement of the game, and anyone who reckons rovers should be worried and not making the 6 is just being plain daft imo. Was only a friendly people, think some people are just taking this game to seroiusly for what it was...

How you gonna pay for these new players??? First player I'd worry about moving on to save the most money is your so-called messiah!!

I think SL 15 will be faster and harder than ever. Anyone who thinks making the play offs is a formality never mind the top 6 is in for a huge shock !!!

People are assessing their own team's performance. Don't think that is really taking things too seriously.

As for FC playing their best team for most of the match I think Rovers fans are missing the point a bit. Quite a few of the Hull players who played today wont be in the starting 17 week in and week out during the season. Hull's squad is now much better balanced and has more depth than previous seasons. This means that some players previously thought of as first teamers are infact now backup. What today showed is that Hull's strength in depth appears far better than the Robins in terms of experience at least.

Yes I agree.

Not sure anyone's said you've got no chance of making the play-offs, just that your team appears to lack the strength in depth which will make it tough to achieve. There is a subtle difference.

sINCE THE FINAL WHISTLE blew rovers "fans" have been using the excuse "we fielded a sqaud of young & fringe players! Yet morgan blames the ref "stepping up to this level" excuse, Its good to see the excuses are starting to come thick an fast from Rovers already..

Was fun listening to him waffle on about hypotheticly maybe having signed Clinton, and if he had hypotheticly signed him then he shouldnt have any Visa issues so should be here for the start of the season hypotheticly.

Great first game and a good run out, still lots to do but with more game time I think they will click very well. Thought 16k plus gate was absolutely fantastic and a real credit to both sets of fans, I remember going to Leeds last season for the friendly and think the crowd was about 6k for Buchannans (2k from Hull).

East Stand was sold out completely. A Friend's daughter we took dropped her ticket and couldn't find it. My wife went to buy a new ticket but couldn't due to Stand being sold out. Fortunatley a kind soul handed it in while they were in the ticket office.
